Our Summer Holiday Club is all done and dusted!

It has been filled with lots of wonderful experiences, including trips to the park, bus and train rides, swimming, soft play and, of course, plenty of outdoor adventures! 🌳🚌🚂🏊‍♀️

A huge thank you goes to my own children, who have been such a fantastic help throughout the summer. They always have the choice to help out on my working days — I would never expect or force them to — but they genuinely enjoy being involved.
I think the children have loved having them around just as much as I have! ❤️

In another week we will be ready for a brand-new term, and we are excited to welcome two new children to the setting from September! 💛

We’ve had a brand-new change around and we have something exciting arriving soon… 👀
I’ll share more about that shortly!

Looking ahead, the setting is currently looking very busy until 2028.
However, circumstances can change, so if a space becomes available with any of my current families, I will always contact the next family on my waiting list.

Here’s to another fantastic year of learning, exploring, growing and making memories together.

For now we are going to enjoy family time before the hard work starts!
Bring on the new term… and our first born sitting her GCSEs! 😬📚

I have recently shared the things we have done in the past with my parents so thought I would share on here too!

Lots to do with the children over the summer ☀️☀️

Our favourite parks 🛝
Riding Mill which also has a lovely walk through the woods nearby

Stocksfield Park

Prudhoe Riverside which has toilets and a cafe! We have taken the train in the past as it’s really close to the train station so the children love to do the train ride too!

Allensford has just been revamped and is really nice now and also has toilets and a nice cafe.
There’s also another woodland walk nearby.

Library - Sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge

Cinema (Minions and Monsters and Toy Story)

Morpeth Family Golf Centre (there is a great pirate mini golf there)

Hall Hill Farm (reasonably priced and fab for all ages!)

Lanchester Garden Centre - Potters World is really good. There are lots of birds, snakes and a giant turtle.
The food in the cafe is amazing!

Wheelbirks (before it closes for good 😢)

Youthy have free park days at Sele and Priestlands parks

Plessy Woods

Talkin Tarn (lovely circular walk with cafe, swans and some water activities. You can paddle board there too!)

Bolam Lake (there are swans on the lake and a cafe and toilets)
There’s a big open space at the end where we take a football and bats and balls.

Strawberry Picking

Swimming

National Trust Sites (our favourite is Wallington and there was a free pass in the daily mail if you don’t have a card)

The hardest part of this job is always saying goodbye. 💖

As another term comes to an end, it’s time for some of the children to take their next big steps and move on to new adventures.

I’ve watched these children start as babies, learning to crawl then walk, talk, and separate from their mummies and daddies for the first time.

I’ve then seen them start to settle and play alongside others, say new words, smile, laugh, grow and learn.

I am so proud of the kind, clever, and independent little people you have become.

I will miss our daily fun, but I know you are going to shine in your next step.

To the parents: Thank you for trusting me with your most precious treasures.
It has been an honor to partner with you during their early years.
I have been well and truly spoilt with cards and gifts, I’m feeling extremely grateful.

It’s not quite the end however, and that has made today easier for me. They are coming back to see us in holiday club! 🥰🥰

Today we ended the term with a Wheelbirks Ice Cream 😋

I’m having a break before our holiday club fun and games start!
Then in September we have new little ones joining us to begin their adventure just like our leavers did 2 years ago.

I hope everyone has an amazing summer ☀️☀️☀️

Another special day for one of the children leaving us in September!

We spent the whole morning down at the allotment.
This particular child’s favourite place to go.

It was made all the more special because we found not 1 but 3 baby newts in the pond! They must have waited to hatch just for him! 🥰

We had lots of fun picking some of our produce. Potatoes, peas and cucumbers. We tried the peas and cucumber and they were given a thumbs up by all the children! 😋

We enjoyed lunch in the sunshine and read his favourite story The Tiger Who Came to Tea 🐯

We had a farm animal egg hunt to end our morning.

As if that wasn’t enough we decorated biscuits this afternoon and we have some messy fun with the farm animals and the paint and cars!

Hall Hill Farm 🐮🐷🐰

Our end of term trip was Hall Hill Farm today and we had a brilliant time!
Thanks to our friends Iveston Childcare for joining us!

We fed Pickles the Billy goat and lots of sheep!
We enjoyed a tractor ride, played in the fort, softplay and we saw lots of different animals.
Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chicks, Pigs, Peacock, Highland Cows, Goats and lots of sheep! I particularly loved the Valais Blacknose Sheep so cute!! 🥰

A magical morning releasing our butterfly!

Only the one has hatched so far but what a beauty it was!
Turning from a plain caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly
We managed to get it to stay around for a while before it flew off. The children were fascinated. Such a great experience for them 🥰

We popped the butterfly on some cow parsley where it seemed very happy and said goodbye!
We are lucky enough to have a field filled with lots of wildflowers just out the back gate so it was the perfect place to set it free!
