In Commando Joโ€™s session, the children in KS1 had to leave their house in the woods to collect some biscuits. The children had to work as a team as the words were full of obstacles!
The children stayed in their line, the child at the front was blindfolded and they could only move by following the instructions from the child at the back of the line.
Children had to think about the instructions given: they had to be very clear and specific. They managed to manoeuvre around the course safety and retrieved the much needed biscuits!

The children have had a lovely week, which started off with odd sock day. On Wednesday, the children positively noticed something good about someone else, wrote it on a post it note and stuck it on the classroom door. It was lovely to read the kind things that they notice about each other. Finally we finished the week with Children In Need non uniform day. We enjoyed showing our friends our outfits! Everyone looked very smart!

Pumpkin fun! Pumpkins really are gifts that keep on giving. We had pumpkins in the provision on the last week of term but they stayed fresh and they still wanted to explore them.

The children have loved playing and scooping them out while others hammered golf tโ€™s into the pumpkins, which is an excellent fine motor skill. Even better when they use their fingers to pull them out when theyโ€™re done. All these fine motor skills help strengthen their fingers and hands and develop their pincer grip and early writing skills.

We are hoping some birds will come and feed off the pumpkin seeds when they are out searching for food.

Year 4 have been loving their Forest School sessions this term. They have had so much fun making potions in the mud kitchen, making the letters to spell Forest School using natural objects as well as making bandanas using a technique called Hapa-zome, a natural printing and dyeing technique that involves bashing plant materials like leaves and flowers with a hammer to transfer their pigments onto fabric or paper.

The children had a lovely time during their first hoop starz session. They started with a warm up by moving around the hula hoops. Then they practised their hooping skills (which were well remembered from last year!) Next the children rested by moving their bodies next to the hoops to create a letter shape and finally we cooled our bodies down.
