The Sele School

The Sele School This is the official Sele School page for past and present pupils, teachers and parents of The Sele School, Hertford, Hertfordshire, England

In this school we are driven by the belief that learning transforms and enriches lives. We educate the whole person, valuing academic, vocational, spiritual, physical, social and emotional development. We are a small school where great value is given to developing strong, supportive relationships. Consequently, every student feels a valued member of our community. Our learners show initiative and

enterprise and achieve success in diverse ways. They gain the self-confidence to be active, lifelong learners and to go out into adult life, ready to make their mark. We are a genuinely inclusive community, valuing difference and recognising that each student brings something unique to the school and each has particular needs. Some of our most able students need the encouragement and support to attain places at our top universities. Others need dedicated teaching and coaching in order for them to show their potential. We know that by working in close partnership with parents, we can see every child succeed. Visitors invariably describe the school as ‘friendly’ and ‘purposeful’. I believe that learning flourishes in a busy but calm environment, characterised by good relationships and the determination to achieve excellence. I hope that you find this web site helpful, and that it gives you some insight into why we are all so proud of this school and its students’ achievements.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! All at The Sele School extend our warmest congratulations to our Year 11 Students, who have achieved results that continue our upward trend in GCSE outcomes.

Our GCSE Students achieved a very pleasing 15% increase in the numbers passing English and Maths with a standard 4+ grade, as well as a 7% increase in the number of Students taking a strong, 5+ pass. This excellent news means that students will be able to access pathways to future learning that are only open to those holding qualifications in both English and Maths.

Well done to all of our Staff and Students whose hard work has resulted in well-deserved success.

The Leadership Team, Staff and Governors at The Sele School are delighted to offer congratulations to our Year 13 Students. Thanks to their hard work and that of their teachers, our Year 13 students have achieved the grades required for their next destination; all students who applied for places have been accepted at their first choice University.

The percentage of students achieving an A* to A was 20%; A* to B was 44%. We are also delighted for George who achieved two A* and two A across all four of his A level subjects.

We wish our year 13 students and their families a wonderful day of celebrations and most of all, a fantastic start on the next stage of their educational career.
