Music is at the heart of the Haileybury community. 🎵

From morning hymns rising through Chapel to over 600 individual music lessons delivered each week, our pupils are encouraged to explore, create, and grow their unique talents. 🎺

There are a large number of musical ensembles, including 18 small groups of trios and quartets, six rock/pop bands, a jazz band, our symphony orchestra and many more. 🎼

Air, land, and water - Haileybury Middles, Fifths, and Lower Sixth pupils embraced it all during this week’s Field Days! 🌊

RAF Cadets tackled RAF Halton’s high ropes and visited RAF Wittering and Hendon, while Navy Cadets headed to Harlow Outdoors and ESSA Water Activities Centre. Army Cadets put their tactical skills to the test during a 36-hour ‘Infantry Shield’ exercise, with blank firing drills, before a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum. What better way to celebrate National Cadets Week? 🎖️

On-site, our Middles Adventure Skills pupils enjoyed archery, tree climbing, mountain biking and camp cooking, whilst Fifths pupils travelled to Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre and enjoyed an overnight stay on the Lord Amory.

Meanwhile, our CubeSat engineers stress-tested custom satellite prototypes, our equestrians took to the saddle at Silver Leys and our musicians enjoyed a tour of the Royal College of Music and a concert in Cambridge.

Unstoppable energy on the pitch! ⚽🔥

Our Lower School boys teams played against Lockers Park, and we are proud to announce:
🏆 U13A extended their unbeaten start to the season to 6 matches, currently on an incredible +45 goal difference!
🏆 U13B & U13C both took on the opposition's U13B side, each securing strong victories.
🏆 U13D, E, and F made it a clean sweep with wins in all of their matches.

Meanwhile, our Girls U13 football team put on a fantastic display in the first round of the Independent Schools Football Association Cup, earning a 2-0 victory against Berkhamsted and progressing through to the next round. 🏆✨

This year’s House Drama performances were incredible! 🎭

Every pupil - from behind-the-scenes crews to the stars on the stage - worked as a team and we want to say a huge thank you to all who made the two nights of shows such a delight to watch.

All of the plays showcased the incredible talent of our pupils.

Geography brought to life in Stratford! 🌍

Our Fifths geographers headed to East London to evaluate the impact of local urban regeneration.

Putting classroom theory into real-world practice, pupils surveyed a range of sites across Stratford, gathering field data that they will analyse back in school to form their own conclusions.

Fieldwork is at the heart of learning at Haileybury - giving pupils the opportunity to explore places firsthand, ask big questions, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. ✨

Early risers in the kitchen! 🥖✨

Our Service College Prefects invited a group of pupils to get their day off to a fantastic start with a fun, hands-on bread-making workshop. Under our wonderful Catering team's expert guidance, the pupils rolled up their sleeves to learn the key fundamentals of baking, mastering everything from kneading techniques and yeast action to timing and oven control. 🍞👨‍🍳

Beyond picking up useful culinary skills, the session gave pupils a great behind-the-scenes look into school life. They came away with a newfound appreciation for the daily care, precision, and craft that go into preparing the freshly baked bread we enjoy in the Dining Hall every day.

Our sincere thanks to Mr Allman for sharing his time and expertise to lead such an engaging, memorable morning for our pupils! There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh bread filling the room - and the joy of sharing that first warm bite with friends.

What an amazing adventure our Lower School 1 pupils had camping out in the woods. ⛺🌳

The fun started in the evening with high-energy activities, including an epic game of Capture the Flag, before everyone settled into their tents for a night under canvas.

Morning came with delicious breakfast muffins to power up for the rest of the action-packed programme. The pupils practised bushcraft skills and tapped into their artistic sides by crafting animals using foraged natural materials.

A huge well done to all our young campers for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and brilliant spirit throughout - it was truly an unforgettable experience! 👏✨
