Which skills can AI not replace? A picture is starting to emerge.

These skills hold their value no matter how quickly the technology around them moves, and they're exactly what employers say they're short of right now.

New Course 🚨

Martyn's Law – the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 – is the UK's new counter-terrorism preparedness law, named after Martyn Hett, who died in the Manchester Arena attack.

It requires venues and premises where people gather, including schools, to have plans in place for responding to a terrorist incident, including: evacuation, lockdown and communication.

The Act received Royal Assent in April 2025 and is expected to be enforced within a two-year window. Early years, primary, secondary and further education settings that expect 200 or more people on site are in scope.

That means most schools will need a "responsible person" (usually the governing body) with a legal duty to prepare.
