🌈 Cobnuts Leavers 2026 🌈

What a way to celebrate our amazing school leavers! 💛

Our leavers’ day was all about laughter, colour, friendship and making memories. Our children covered themselves (and a few very willing staff! 😅) with colour, had special messages written on T-shirts and celebrated the end of an incredible journey together.

Over the past few years we’ve watched these little people grow into confident, kind, curious and adventurous learners. They’ve climbed trees, splashed in the sea, built dens, explored woodlands, cared for wildlife, made lifelong friendships and embraced every adventure on the big red minibus with endless enthusiasm.

As they head off to school, we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them. While we’re excited to see where their next adventure takes them, there will always be a little piece of Cobnuts with them.

To all of our wonderful families, thank you for trusting us with your precious children. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of their story.

Good luck, Class of 2026. Keep being curious, keep being brave, and never stop exploring. 🌿❤️

Nikki runs our Forest School classes throughout the term, in September we hope to start Beach School with her - she’s lovely and knowledable, we recommend you book with her for some summer fun x

Registration for the next free beach clean and play is live

Saturday 15th August 9am-11am

Come along and do your bit to look after beaches.
We will be having a short safety brief followed by some time litter picking.
Once we have finished the litter pick, there will be time to explore the rock pools to see what marine life you can find. If there are any you don't know the names of, use the guide books to help you.
We will also explore the effects of the tide alongside the rock pooling.

Registration is free. The only associated cost is for parking at the Reculver car park.

Head to withnature.oakline.app to register your family space. All ages are welcome. Under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult

Well… today didn’t quite go to plan! 😂

We set off in our minibus, excited to visit the Turner Contemporary after taking a close look at Antony Gormley’s sea sculpture. We talked about why it was covered in seaweed and shells and headed back to the art gallery only for silly Carmen to realise it was closed! 🤦‍♀️

Not to worry—every good adventure needs a Plan B! So we headed to Dreamland instead, where the children enjoyed the rides, shared lots of giggles and made some brilliant memories together. 🎡💙

Sometimes the unexpected turns out to be the best part of the day, and today was a perfect reminder that adventure is about embracing the moment, wherever it takes us. 🌞✨

Some of our Cobnuts children have been busy in the hub this morning! Yoga is so much more than stretching. It helps children build strength, balance and coordination while supporting their emotional wellbeing and concentration. Through movement, breathing and mindfulness, children learn how to recognise and manage their feelings, helping them feel calm, resilient and ready to learn.

Most importantly... they absolutely love it! 💚

While some of our friends were busy assembling a mega bug hotel at Forest School we went on one of our last adventures of the term.
We met the fabulous volunteers at the East Kent Railway Trust. After trying to crank-start the old engine and exploring a newer one, Josh opened up one of the trains so we could see what it would be like to drive a train!

Some of the best partnerships don't begin with a plan… they begin with a conversation. ❤️🌿

Just a few months ago, Nikki shared a post about her passion for Forest School. We got chatting, discovered we shared the same values and vision for childhood, and decided to see where it might lead.

One term later, it already feels like she's always been part of the Cobnuts family and our team love joining her on our Forest School adventures.

Together we've created magical experiences for our children – climbing trees, lighting fires, using real tools, building confidence, solving problems and making memories that simply can't be recreated indoors.

This incredible bug hotel is the perfect example of what young children can achieve when they work together. Thomas Netts from Shy Beaver Workshop kindly handcrafted the beautiful frame, giving our children the opportunity to build it themselves under Nikki's careful guidance. Over two days, our 3 and 4-year-olds measured, sawed, drilled, screwed, hammered, stapled, gathered natural materials and worked together to transform it into a wonderful home for wildlife.

More importantly, they developed confidence, resilience, perseverance and teamwork. They learnt to use real tools safely, solved problems together and experienced the pride that comes from creating something meaningful with their own hands.

At Cobnuts, we believe children are capable of far more than we often give them credit for. Given trust, time, encouragement and the right environment, they continue to amaze us every single day.

The finished bug hotel was proudly gifted to our wonderful woodland landowners as a thank you for welcoming us into their beautiful woods. We hope it will provide a home for insects for many years to come and stand as a lasting reminder of everything the children achieved together.

A huge thank you to Nikki at With Nature: Forest School & Wild Beach for sharing her passion, knowledge and enthusiasm with our children this term. Thank you also to Thomas Netts from Shy Beaver Workshop for creating the fantastic build-it-yourself frame that made this project possible.

Here's to many more adventures, collaborations and unforgettable experiences together. We can't wait to see what next term brings. 🌳🐞💚

Today a small group of our big Cobnuts enjoyed a windy adventure to Dover Castle! We explored the ancient rooms and winding staircases before heading back down to investigate the play fort x
