Cobnuts Woodland Nursery and Forest School Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign 09/04/2026

Our nearest defibrillator is too far away from Cobnuts so we’ve decided to fundraise to get our own with paediatric pads. The unit will be accessible to the whole community 7am-7pm while the gates are open xx it would be really appreciated if you could help in any way and share # # #

For our older Cobnuts this was the last big outing on the minibus before they start their new adventures in September, for our younger children it was a wonderful opportunity to learn from their peers before joining the big side.

We’ve had an amazing term exploring transport - diesel trains, boats, buses, racing cars and today we ended on a high at the RAF Manston History Museum and the Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum.

The children loved exploring the aircraft displays, climbing into cockpits, and trying on real firefighter and pilot helmets. Their imaginations were in full flow as they role-played being pilots, rescue workers, cabin crew and engineers.

Inside the museum, they were fascinated by the old artifacts and plane models, asking great questions and sharing their thoughts with friends. It was lovely to see them working together, helping each other, and showing such curiosity!

Thank you to the staff at both museums for being so lovely x The children were very pleased with their Kent Wheels of Time badges!

Another fantastic adventure with the big Cobnuts! Thank you to Canterbury Historic River Tours for hosting us again, we had a lovely time exploring our city by boat before being treated by the lovely staff at City Fish Bar. After lunch we walked along the river and under echoey bridges to get to Toddlers Cove before heading back through Westgate Gardens to our minibus.

What better way to spend a day in this hot weather ☀️

We took the big red minibus on an adventure to find the icy water and woodland shade at Kearsney Abbey. We kept cool with our toes in the water while exploring the ruins and waterfalls x

Using old candles to make new! We have been making clay pots, that took ages to dry but today we could finally use them. We snapped old candles and melted them on the fire. We watched the wax melt down into a liquid. The children helped to hold the wick steady and listen carefully as we poured the hot wax into the pots. 🕯️ 💕

The Littlest Yak

This morning we were treated to a musical adaptation of The Littlest Yak by at .

Gertie is great at being THE LITTLEST YAK, with the CURLIEST, WHIRLIEST wool and the GRIPPIEST of hooves for clip-clopping up cliffs. Only, Gertie doesn’t want to be the littlest. She’s in a rush to grow up and be just like THE BIG YAKS. But what if there are some things that only a GERTIE can do?

The children were introduced to the instruments before meeting the puppets. We learnt the 4 things you need to do to be a good yak and had fun joining in with the fun songs. 💕

Flower weaving 🌸🪻🌷

We have been busy making nature weaving looms at Cobnuts. Weaving helps children develop their fine motor skills, hand- eye coordination and problem solving skills.
