This is me! I’m Cara but most of the children I care for know me as Rara! I am a level 3 qualified early years Practioner and will be offering child minding services that fit around your family. I want to make sure the care I give your child is tailored to support you and how you want your child to be raised. I will be registered with Ofsted and able to accept child care funding once I am established and ready to start. I am Makaton sign language trained, this supports and encourages early Speach and language development. I have experience with SEND and I am happy to work with any professionals needed to support your child.

🥤 During the heatwave we wanted to remind parents that slushies are NOT recommended for children under 8 years.

⚠️ Researchers have suggested that children under 8 years should avoid these drinks due to concerns that it could lead to glycerol intoxication. Glycerol is a sweetener, which is used to stop slushies from freezing completely.

⚠️ Slushies were in the news last year year due to a number of children requiring emergency treatment after consuming them. Doctors said the children had "glycerol intoxication syndrome" and were affected in a variety of ways:

👉 most lost consciousness and showed signs of low sugar and high acidity in the blood.
👉 four needed brain scans
👉 one had a seizure

🔹 The children all recovered and were discharged from hospital but it’s being suggested that young children under 8 years should avoid drinking slushies because their smaller bodies can't handle large doses of glycerol, making them more prone to the toxic effects. The current Food Standards Agency (FSA) advice is not to give slushies to children under 4.

🔹 The FSA stated that ‘while the symptoms of glycerol intoxication are usually mild, it is important that parents are aware of the risks – particularly at high levels of consumption’.

‼️ Always be cautious of sugary drinks and monitor for signs of discomfort after consumption.

This is a reminder that The Magnum Ice Cream Company changed the recipes of the following products: Twister tropical, Twister mallow and Twister pineapple. As part of this change the products now contain milk, which was not previously present in the recipe.

A MASSIVE...Well Done to Logan!

Logan has been attending our swim school for just a short time and with the help of our BRILLIANT swim teacher, Cara, has just gained his Puffin Award....OUTSTANDING!

A proud mum moment..."He has had a really tough time recently but starting swimming lessons has been amazing for him! Only been 3 times and got his first certificate today and he was so proud of himself!

Thank you so much Cara, he couldn't have a better instructor, so understanding and patient with him. He honestly doesn't stop going on about his "new best friend who held me when I was really tiny". Thank you 😘".
