I always avoid talking politics or religion with pupils, sensibly I think, but maybe anything sporty now needs to be off limits….

Lesson just now, and my pupil tells me that tonight’s big game is Germany v Curacao.
I say “so fingers crossed the Germans lose, eh?”, pupil tells me he’s half-German, mum is from Düsseldorf 😂😂

Always lovely to hear from a fondly remembered ex-pupil, and Mia here reminded me today it’s a year since she smashed her test on first attempt!
Got herself a car in November, and since then now driving confidently all over the UK (perhaps from theatre to theatre, Mia??)👏👏

A super result this morning for Elen Pennells, passed on her first attempt with just the two minors, and delivered what her examiner called an excellent drive.

Elen is rightly over the moon, and with family as far afield as High Wycombe and Suffolk she’ll be clocking up the miles as soon as she gets that all important first car.

So many congratulations and very well done Elen, this was a fabulous result and I’ll certainly miss our lessons together. And I’m so pleased that we’ll soon be tucking into another bacon and sausage bap each when we meet up for our motorway lesson! 🥓🌭😉

One of my current pupils is in this fabulous group, she’s performing a solo I believe, and not for the first time they are gigging at the Hay on Wye festival this year.
Must be proud of that exposure….

A super drive this morning by Hamish Grant, passed on his first attempt with just the three minors.

Hamish is now on study leave for his A’ levels, but it’s a fair old commute into college so he’ll be getting the mileage in pretty soon.

Many congratulations and very well done Hamish, a super result very much deserved. Wishing you as much success with those upcoming exams, and here’s to many years of happy and safe driving!

Delighted this morning for Danny Lambert, a pretty impressive first time pass and richly deserved too.

Danny and I had a few breaks in lessons, working around work and other commitments, but this is a super outcome today. Great timing too, as he’s shortly off to a new life in London, taking his Masters at Goldsmiths College.

So huge congratulations and take a bow Danny, it was always enjoyable working with you and all the best for Goldsmiths (will pop to see you if I do make it over to Hay Festival!)

It doesn’t get any better than this, huge congrats to Robyn Hussey on her super first time pass today with zero faults.

Needless to say Robyn’s over the moon, and with a long commute into school she will soon be clocking up the miles. And learning to drive is her gold Duke of Edinburgh skill, so that went pretty well didn’t it!

Many congratulations on a richly deserved pass Robyn, it’s been a pleasure working with you and here’s to many years of happy and safe driving 👍

That beaming smile says it all, many congratulations to Hugo Lively, just passed his test at the first time of asking with a really assured and confident drive.

Hugo will be clocking up the miles right away, he’s on study leave from Bromsgrove School but needs to return for his Business and Sports Science exams (plus a few rugby matches I think!).

So very well done Hugo, and wishing you many years of happy and safe driving - here’s to equal success with your finals!
