We are looking for a 16-18 year old who would be interested in taking up a wonderful opportunity to train as a level 2/3 apprentice in early years with us, starting from September 2026. We would love to invite the right applicant to learn their craft amongst our preschool family.
Early years is a wonderful, exciting world which we are very lucky to be a part of and for the right person this could be a fantastic opportunity. The applicant must have a strong desire to work with children, explore new experiences and want to be part of a hardworking team.

Just a small selection of the wonderful things we have been getting up to so far this half term. We’ve been exploring different materials like clay, wet shredded paper which has helped us to develop our finger and hand muscles. We’ve been creative with a number of loose parts, developing our construction skills, language, mathematics and gross motor skills.
A lovely couple of weeks after the Christmas break.

There's been a major step forward for the ‘Play is Learning’ campaign, as MPs debate a petition signed by over 106,000 parents calling for play-based learning to continue into Year 1 and 2.

Right now in England, the law says play-based learning ends at Reception – unlike in Scotland and Wales, where it's protected through the early years of school.

But campaigners say this needs to change. They argue that the abrupt shift from play to paperwork isn't developmentally appropriate – and many children feel the impact fast.

'Children don’t suddenly stop learning through play just because they’ve turned five,' says petition founder and former deputy head Ruth Lue-Quee (mymummyteacher).

Could England follow the evidence – and protect play in early primary classrooms, or do you think children should be learning behind desks after reception?

Today we’ve been exploring the Christmas nativity story, helping to develop speech and language and listening skills. We’ve started our Christmas cards - lots of glitter and sparkles everywhere and spend the day investigating a wide range of water play, from making potions, and “jelly” to understanding empty, full, heavy and light. 🥰
