As we said farewell to our second years before exam season, we did it by hanging the first banner at HSFC to celebrate a first league title for the program.
It’s a fabulous achievement by these young men congratulations and good luck to each of them!

Time to get ready for the summer

💪🏀❤️CHAMPIONS❤️🏀💪 Celebrating your HSFC Basketball Academy the West Midlands AOC League Champions 25/26.

Unbeaten at home with 13 wins in the league, reaching the Elite 8 in the National Cup, these players have hit a whole new level for basketball in Herefordshire.
Our 4 second years, Dylan, James, captain Bodhi and vice captain Oli have set the highest standard. Josh completing the starters, supported by our other first years Louis, Harrison, Praise, Ewan, Jonah and Dom have all contributed and every player has got on the scoresheet this season.

Coach Graham Biggs said “two years ago the academy didn’t win a single game in any competition. Last year the players joined me in rebuilding the program. As a result we came 4th and had a good cup run. This year the commitment has been fabulous to witness. The players have allowed themselves to grow and embrace the challenge. Winning single digit matches is more about character than anything else. We’ve won 4 big games in single digits with big shots to close out games. I’m really proud of this group of young men, it’s been a joy to be part of this basketball family.”

Sport is deeply embedded in HSFC. Thanks go to Mr Douthwaite for his support together with Chris our driver and the whole team in sport at the college.

We now look forward to the college sports awards dinner in May.

End of the run. After going down early and falling 18 behind our boys showed true character to pull back and lead briefly by 1 with 2 minutes to go. Some interesting moments late left BMet with a 6 point win and the end of our unbeaten run.
17 for James coming alive in the second half and 16 for Bodhi on the back of full court pressure and hits for 40 minutes. 16 for Josh and 13 for Dylan, both contributing at both ends. 4 each for Oli and Dom rounds it up.
