From garden to table 🥒🌱

Our outdoor toddlers harvested fresh courgettes from the veg plot too, they carefully chopped them up, and cooked them together to try. Exploring where food comes from and tasting something they’ve grown themselves is such a rewarding experience and many were surprised by how much they enjoyed trying something new! 💚

From seed to salad 🥔🌱

Daisy’s potatoes were finally ready to harvest from our veg plot! The toddlers loved digging them up before taking them inside to make their own delicious potato salad. A wonderful way to learn where food comes from while enjoying the fruits (or vegetables!) of their hard work…💚

🚜 Dig, Dig, Digger! 🚜

Our outside toddlers have been inspired by the story Dig, Dig, Digger. Their interest in construction led to a week packed with exciting, child-led learning experiences both indoors and outdoors.
Through digging, building, transporting, and creating, the children explored how construction vehicles and tools work while developing their communication and language, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. They worked together to design and build a marble run, strengthening their ability to collaborate and think creatively. The children also used construction vehicles for mark making and, inspired by the story, created their own large-scale construction artwork, expressing their creativity through a range of exciting, hands-on experiences.
Following the children’s interests helps create meaningful learning experiences, encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a love of exploration through play.

Last week our babies had so much fun at the shoe shop! 👣👟

We had our little feet measured, tried on lots of different shoes, drew around our feet and even measured our friends’ feet too!

Our trip supported lots of EYFS learning, including maths through measuring and comparing sizes, communication and language through chatting about what we were doing, and understanding the world as we learned about why we wear different shoes. It was a lovely morning full of exploring, learning and smiles! 💛☀️🌿🐝
