Meta Smart Glasses and any smart glasses with recording features are not permitted in our setting, in line with our safeguarding and privacy policies.

If a member of staff notices them being worn, you will be kindly asked to remove them before entering, even if they are turned off.

We’ve had some cute little visitors today 🦢

We are absolutely thrilled to share the fantastic result from our recent Ofsted inspection. Lake View Nursery has been recognised for the high-quality care and education we provide for our children and families and we are so so proud!🌟

This achievement reflects the dedication, passion, and hard work of our incredible team, who go above and beyond every single day to create a nurturing, inspiring, and safe environment where children can thrive 💚

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful children and supportive families. Your kindness, trust, and ongoing support mean the world to us and we love creating memories with you all.

We are ver proud of what we have achieved together and remain committed to providing the very best start for every child in our care. ✨ We have been open for 13 years and have gone through much growth and development. We have always been determined to improve and develop every aspect of the nursery and this will continue as we open our brand new Preschool Room this year! (Link to report in comments)

☀️ Sun Safety Week (Wc 11th May)☀️
Let’s hope this week brings the sunshine! 😎

At Lake View Nursery, keeping our children safe in the sun is an important part of our daily routine. Children should be able to enjoy outdoor play safely while developing healthy habits that will stay with them for life.

As part of our sun safety practice, we provide:
🧴 A suncream station in the corridor for families to use on arrival and departure
☀️ Minimum SPF 50 suncream supplied by the nursery
👒 Wide, age-appropriate sunhats for outdoor play
🌳 Gardens thoughtfully designed with shaded areas in mind
💧 Regular access to fresh drinking water throughout the day
⏰ Outdoor play is adapted during the warmest parts of the day, where needed
💛 Practitioners who model good sun safety by wearing hats and suncream too

Did you know? Most sun damage happens during childhood, which is why teaching children how to protect their skin from an early age is so important.

What a wonderful morning we’ve had at Lake View today! 🌟

We were so lucky to welcome Sea Legs Puppet Theatre
into the nursery, where Rob performed the fantastic Little Bo Peep puppet show for the children. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and so many giggles as the children watched the story come to life through the amazing puppets, music and storytelling. 🐑🎭

The children were completely captivated from start to finish and loved joining in throughout the performance. A huge thank you to Rob for such a magical and memorable experience! We're already looking at booking his brand new show coming soon! 💛

☀️ Sun Safety for Babies, Toddlers & Children ☀️
Keeping children safe in the sun helps protect their skin now and in the future 💛

👶 Babies under 6 months
Keep out of direct sunlight
Use shade, wide‑brimmed hats and loose, long‑sleeved clothing
Sunscreen is not recommended – speak to a health professional if unsure

🧒 Babies over 6 months, toddlers & children
✅ Use SPF 30+ (or higher) sunscreen
✅ Apply generously and reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming
✅ Wear hats, sunglasses and protective clothing
✅ Encourage play in the shade, especially between 11am–3pm
✅ Keep children hydrated with regular drinks

🌻 Remember: Sunburn in childhood increases the risk of skin damage later in life.

What an exciting morning we've had! 🚜

Our children have absolutely loved exploring this huge tractor in the car park this morning. They loved climbing up the steps and sitting in the driver's seat, turning the wheel and trying out all of the different levers.
