Want to know something crazyβ
During World War I, an estimated 250,000 boys aged 19 or under enlisted in the British forces. Many underage recruits lied about their age or provided false names. The youngest known British boy to fight in WWI was Sidney Lewis, who enlisted at 12 and fought at the Battle of the Somme at 13!
Today we remember these individuals who died putting themselves on the front lines for the good of their country, their family and their community. It hits heavier remembering that each one was someones child or their sibling or best friend with dreams and doubts and hobbies.
Can you imagine what it would have been like to spend a day in their place?
What would it look like for you to fight on the front lines today? What kind of sacrifices could you make for the good of your community?

What does a βsafe spaceβ mean to YOU?
This week is Youth Work Week, the National Youth Agencyβs annual celebration of the life-changing impact of youth work across the UK.
This yearβs theme, Building Brighter Futures: Safe places, trusted support, and opportunities to thrive, highlights the essential role youth work plays in helping young people feel secure, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

We spend around Β£15 a week on fruit so our young people can enjoy healthy snacks for free πππ
This is just one small way your support helps make a difference at Close House - keeping our space welcoming, healthy, and full of life.
If youβd like to help with our weekly shop, you can drop a Tesco voucher through our letterbox, or donate via the link in our bio.
Thank you for supporting our young people! π
