This week, Hereford Sixth Form College held its annual IMPACT Week, where we welcomed in guest speakers from a wide variety of industries and professions, allowing students a rare and valuable insight into potential career options. The college also held internal workshops with teachers from various departments, allowing students to experience a taste of subjects beyond their own timetables, along with a set of collaborative workshops held at our neighbouring institutions Hereford College of Arts and Herefordshire College.

Refugee Week 2026 Creative Competition: this year’s theme is Courage.
Create something original inspired by courage, resilience, identity, community, or the experiences and stories of refugees and displaced people. Your work could help raise awareness, start conversations, and celebrate different voices and experiences in our community.

Three exciting job roles have become available at Hereford Sixth Form College!
⭐ Rugby Coach - Casual, Part Time. SFCA Support Staff Pay Scale Point 24-31, £21.81 – £25.83 per hour dependant on experience. All academies compete in the Association of Colleges Sport Leagues with regular fixtures, tournaments and training date. The college is also proud to be a RFU partner college.
⭐Exams Assistant - Part time 3 days/22.5 hours, term time + 2 weeks, Permanent. SFCA Support Pay Scale Point 5 pro rata £13,496 (Full Time Equivalent £25,159). You will be a strong team player who is able to work in a customer facing environment providing support to the Examinations Officer, assisting with the day-to-day procedures relating to examination activities.
⭐ Theatre Technician - Part time 3 days/22.5 hours, term time, Permanent. SFCA Support Pay Scale Point 3 – 5 pro rata £12,623 – £12,827 (Full Time Equivalent £24,759 – £25,159). The Theatre Technician is key in providing technical, organisational and backstage support to ensure the department and it’s students are able to deliver high quality assessment and extra-curricular performances.

The Online Bursary Application has now opened for the 2026 -2027 academic year, please visit Hereford Sixth Form College Online Student Portal (paymystudent.com). Applications are required for all returning students who would like to be assessed for bursary support and any prospective students enrolling September 2026. All current bursary students have been sent further information via email.
Please make your application as soon as possible to ensure there are no delays with any required travel pass. The income threshold has increased to £30,000 for September 2026 applicants.
