On Wednesday 1st July, Stride active hosted the Herefordshire School Games, welcoming over 1,800 children from schools across the county for a fantastic day of sport, activity and competition.
Hereford Sixth Form College played an integral role in the event, leading and supporting seven different sporting activities, including the Inclusion Sports event. Over 140 Sports Leaders, all students studying Sport and Physical Education at HSFC, volunteered their time and expertise to help deliver the event.

The Sports Leaders did an outstanding job engaging and supporting a wide range of young participants, ensuring that every child had the opportunity to be active, develop new skills and most importantly, have fun through sport. Their enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment helped create a positive and inclusive environment for all involved.

The Inclusion Sports Festival was a particular highlight, providing opportunities for children of all abilities to participate and enjoy the benefits of physical activity. The HSFC Sports Leaders were excellent role models, inspiring the next generation to stay active and confident in sport.

We were delighted to receive a visit back in June from the Youth Officer from Hereford City Rotary Club, Ron Pearce. Rotary International is a global network of business, professional, and community leaders. Members volunteer their time, skills, and resources to tackle critical local and international issues. Hereford City Rotary Club is the local chapter of this prestigious organisation.

Every year it comes to recognise the efforts of HSFC students who have made exceptional contributions in the community. This year's deserving group receiving awards were: Tobias F (Rotary Young Peacemaker), Callum D (Rotary Young Environmentalist), and Freya W (Rotary Young Citizen).

We are grateful for this long-term collaboration, and our students are equally grateful as they will certainly be able to add to their future applications!
