We are excited to announce that applications for our new School Prefects will open on Thursday 2nd July.
Becoming a prefect is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their leadership skills, take on additional responsibilities, and play an important role in helping to make our school an even better place. Prefects act as positive role models, support younger children, and represent the school at a variety of events and activities throughout the year.
Paper copies of prefect application forms will be given out by class teachers on Wednesday 1st July, there is also a copy of the application attached to this email. All applications need to be returned by Thursday 9th July.
To ensure that all children have the opportunity to apply, time will be provided in class for pupils to complete their applications. Children may also choose to take their application form home if they would prefer to complete it with their family.
We encourage all children who are interested in making a positive contribution to school life to consider applying. We are looking forward to reading their applications and learning more about why they would like to become a School Prefect.

The forecast for today suggests that the hot weather will likely continue. Therefore, if your child has a heat-related illness or is suffering due to the heat, we will continue to authorise absences.

Please contact the school in accordance with our attendance procedures.

We are open today and tomorrow. If any parent feels the weather is too extreme, please let us know of any absences in the usual way. If anyone plans on collecting the children early please let the office know.

Due to the hot weather conditions, we will be making some temporary adjustments to our school dinner menu. These changes are intended to help reduce temperatures in the kitchen and support the wellbeing of our catering staff during this period of high heat.

Wednesday 24 June - the roast dinner option will be BBQ chicken wrap and the vegetarian option will be hot cheesy bean wrap. Both will be served with oven baked chips and carrot batons.

Thursday 25 June - there will be a selection of baguettes, sandwiches and a cold pasta bar.

It is not possible for the menu choices on the MCAS parent app to be altered to reflect this change, but if you wish to amend or cancel your booking you can do so until midnight the day before.

Kindle Centre drop-in session is happening in The Community Room tomorrow morning - 19th June. If parents / carers need advice on housing, money, benefits, job applications etc - pop in and see Susannah who is a Community Advisor. Thirty-minute appointments are available throughout the morning - just call the School Office to book a time slot

5EA & 5SS are due back into school at approx 3.45pm (traffic dependent)

5EA & 5SS are on their way home from a fantastic trip to the Egypt Centre where they have created their own Shabtis, played the parts of Isis and Osiris and examined ancient artefacts! What a day!

Consents & medical forms for Dinedor will be sent home with your child today. Please return these by Monday 22 June at the latest.
