🌱 Eco-Schools Success at GEM Hereford! 🌱

We are delighted to share that, following the hard work and dedication of our pupils during the last academic year, GEM Hereford has been awarded Eco-Schools Green Flag Accreditation.

Our Eco-Committee led a range of sustainability projects including creating bird feeders, growing marigolds to attract pollinators, and upcycling benches. Their efforts have helped make our school environment greener while inspiring others to take positive action for the planet.

Well done to everyone involved! 💚🌍

A massive thank you to Tim Hanks from Hanks’ Meat & Game for providing us with eyes for Biology. 👁️🧬

In lessons, students dissected an eye as part of this term's topic, where they are learning all about the eye and how it works and the different parts of one. It made us a little squeamish — so a photo is not included. 😅👀

🌿 Our pupils had a fantastic visit to Growing Local CIC at Southside Farm today! 🚜

They loved exploring the farm and learning all about nature and where our food comes from. It was a fun, hands-on experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

A big thank you to the team at Growing Local CIC for making us feel so welcome! 💚

It's paddleboard season! ☀️🌊

On Wednesday we headed to Keepers Pond, and the kids were absolutely fantastic on the water. They had the best time, building confidence, trying something new, and making some amazing memories.

A huge thank you to Rose for organising the session and keeping us all safe throughout the day. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting – the views were simply stunning! 💙🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️

☀️ A Perfect Summer Day at School 🌿

Today we embraced the heat with a wonderfully relaxed, outdoor day! Students enjoyed making refreshing drinks and even used coconut shells as their cups 🥥🍹

Hammocks were strung up between trees, shady spots in the garden became our classrooms, and the highlight for many was cooking together over an open fire 🔥

We made sure everyone stayed safe in the sunshine too—making the most of the shade, staying hydrated, and taking regular breaks 🌳💧

A beautiful reminder that learning can happen anywhere—especially when surrounded by nature and sunshine 🌼
