What a fantastic first week back after half term! π
Itβs been a busy and exciting week at Ashperton. Red Class enjoyed a wonderful trip to Goodrich Castle π° , some of our pupils took part in a brilliant Tag Rugby Festival at Luctonians and we were delighted to welcome the talented author and illustrator George Elliott to school.
George led inspiring art workshops with every class, and the children absolutely loved getting creative. We canβt wait to see their finished artwork, which will be available to purchase at our Summer Fair on Friday 19th June.
A huge thank you to George for spending time with us this week and inspiring our young artists. π¨π
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and we look forward to another great week ahead!

What an incredible Science Week we have had at Ashperton! ππ¬π±
Our children have taken part in a huge range of activities focused on sustainability and climate action, including:
π§ A water purification STEM challenge, learning just how difficult it can be to access clean water in many parts of the world
π A West End climate-themed drama workshop
π¦ Making bird boxes
π¨ Learning about our partner school in Tanzania and creating beautiful Tanzania-themed tiles for a mural
π οΈ A repair cafΓ© experience, where children explored textiles, woodwork and upcycling projects
πΊ Recycling paper to create some wildflower seed bombs
The week culminated in all children helping to lay paths and plant a huge array of produce in our brand-new vegetable garden! π₯π«π₯
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported the garden project so far - weβve been blown away by the generosity of our Ashperton families π₯°
And none of this could have happened without our Science Superhero - Mrs Wheeler, the hard work, time and determination she has dedicated to this project is inspiring. THANK YOU π π

So much fun was had at the Colour Run this afternoon! π¨
Every child had a huge smile on their face as they ran through our wildflower meadow, raising money for our own school project as well as our link school in Tanzania π
The children and staff were covered from head to toe in bright powdered paint and sporting some fantastic glasses π
Thank you so much for your continued support. If anyone still has sponsorship money to hand in, this can either be paid online via Just Giving or brought into school in cash π

A brilliant group of year 5 and 6 pupils showed great engineering potential on Friday while taking part in a whole-day DT project, making some fun creations!
They began by making doodle-bots that used motors, counter-weights and pens that could walk around and doodle! They made tweaks, noticed changes and evaluating their creations before they designed their own motorised products including, cleaning-bots that wobbled around sweeping and sponging, childrenβs toys (such as walking sausage dogs and elephants) and football-bots that could kick a ball around!
We clearly have some budding product designers and engineers at Ashperton! π€
