We are thrilled to have Greg Banks on our BA Performing Arts teaching team.

Greg is a multi-award winning director and playwright. He has been working in theatre for over thirty years, establishing a National and International reputation in his work for new audiences of all ages.
Earlier this year Greg received the Charlotte B Chorpenning award for his ‘Outstanding Body of Work for Young People’, in the USA.
His plays take the realities of life and the harshness of our classic stories and render an epic work that speaks directly to, not at, young people, producing works of transformation and grand adventure. Greg’s scripts have a fluid muscularity and a rhythm that is echoed in the strongly physical nature of his direction.

Music is an essential component and a close collaboration with composers and on stage musicians creates a live and original score, ensuring that the music is fully integrated into the work, driving the story forwards, evoking place and emotion in a very specific way.

Greg has written over thirty original scripts many of which are currently being produced at Theatres and other venues throughout the US and Canada.

Our students are in for a treat, as Greg will be working with our students to develop their acting skills and will direct them for their end of Semester 1 showcase.

Our wonderful cast!

The Cherry Orchard performance has been named by us 'the never-ending show', as it was a show that was picked up and then put on hold and then picked up and put on hold and picked up....you get the cycle....making theatre during Covid times has certainly been interesting!!

But we did it - the Cherry Orchard was performed this year and the performances by all our Performing Arts students were absolutely outstanding!

The cast clearly knew their characters inside out, by the time the show eventually happened.

Well done for all your dedication and keeping the motivation!
