🌸 It’s not just about the activity — it’s about the interaction 🌸

The activity: Flower garden building, incorporating mathematics

The learning: Mathematical language — exploring size, numbers and quantities — alongside forming friendships, sharing, colours, communication and language. All supported through high-quality adult interactions, thoughtful scaffolding and purposeful questioning.

Through open-ended questions, children were encouraged to explain their thinking, make connections, problem-solve and extend their mathematical understanding 💭✨

Because it’s not about what we provide — it’s how we interact, respond and extend children’s thinking that makes the learning meaningful

🍎 Apple Crumble 🍏
The children took part in an exciting group activity where they worked together to make apple crumble. They chopped the apples, weighed the ingredients and mixed the flour, sugar and butter together to make the crumble. They carefully scooped their apples and crumble into their trays ready for baking!
