What a lovely morning we had at Shefford’s national play day ☀️

Today we went fruit picking 🍓

We talked about how the plant changed from a flower to a fruit and that the strawberry was only ready to pick when it was nice and red, each little one had their own punnet to collect their own red strawberry’s to take home 🍓 ☀️

Today we got out early and enjoyed a visit to standalone farm 🐮 🐷 My eldest daughter Olivia will be joining us on our adventures this week for work experience 💓

🏝️ On monday we went to a local sand pit,
Messy Sand Play, Role-Play, scooping & Pouring Using spades and buckets is fantastic for developing gross and fine motor skills, while coordinating movements helps build physical confidence.
🪣 We used the spade and counted how many scoops it took to fill the bucket with sand, using numbers naturally during sand play is a wonderful way to introduce early maths.
🏴‍☠️ Some older children used their Imagination transforming the play frame into a pirate ship this provided lots of social interaction, language development, and collaborative storytelling.

🐡Tuesday we went under the sea with Hartbeeps,
Hartbeeps sessions are brilliant for early years development, introducing rhythm, movement, and interactive storytelling in a fun and interactive way.

🏃‍♂️ On Tuesday we also made an obstacle course out of the soft play equipment, this encouraged the children to move and be active by running, hopping, jumping.

With the hot weather we got out early today and had some fun in the park we then enjoyed the splash park before it got too hot 🥵 ☀️

On Tuesday we visited the Build and play group, this session offers endless open ended play with its setup of natural resources.

Today we chopped up our own morning snacks of strawberries and bananas.
We then added the remaining fruit to the blender to make some smoothies, all the children enjoyed the smoothie and asked for more, once finished we discussed what fruit we would like to try in a smoothie next week! 🍓 🍌 🥤
