👨‍🍳 Baking with us 👩‍🍳

In Pre School the children have shown a high level of interest in the role play area and have been taking on different roles which led us to bake some cheese scones.

The children used their knowledge of numbers to guess amounts needed and also recognise the numbers on the scales when ingredients were weighed out. This activity made a great conversation as the children discussed what food they have at home and we spoke about different cultures and the different needs for our friends as they may have an allergy to an ingredient.

In Pre School the children have been using the creative thinking as they have been using different objects which are a variety of shapes and sizes to create a wonderful master piece.

This supported the children's problem solving, social interactions, turn taking and being creative, which also impacted their communication and language skills and an opportunity to add new descriptive words to expand their vocabulary.

The children have recently shown a big interest in animals and the staff have been supporting the children's interest by giving the child a wide variety of activities to develop their understanding.

The children have had an amazing experience with a big thank you to our Forest School Lead Julia who shared some amazing items with the children.

The children have created many animals, from painting, to sticking and creating their own master piece. The children have sung numerous animal songs and have also been exploring a range of books with animals.

The activities provided to the children have supported children to their individual needs, such as supporting their:

* Communication and language skills
* Personal, social and emotional skills
* Understanding of the world
* Mathematics
* Physical development
* Literacy
* Creativity skills
* Fine motor skills
* Gross motor skills

We are offering our families a chance to undertake some first aid training with Little Wing which is on Wednesday 5th August from 7pm till 9pm. The training sessions is via zoom.

We have had positive feedback from parents who have attended the training, it may be that a family member may look after your child on a particular day so why not see if they would like to join.

If you are interested in joining the parent first aid training please do let a member of the team know so we can send you the link to join.

We have got our very own pumpkins growing that were planted from a seed and have grown incredibly well especially with the warm sun we have had in recent weeks.
