In 1999, a local group entitled MAD (Millenium Amateur Dramatics) got together for the first time to produce Aladdin in Shiplake College's Tithe Barn in aid of the Shiplake and Dunsden Parish appeal. Following the success of the venture, the group reinvented itself as SHADDO (Shiplake and Dunsden Dramatic Organisation) and decided to produce a further pantomime, the proceeds this time to be plough

ed back into the local village venue, Shiplake Memorial Hall, with the aim of restoring the vestiges of a local theatre to the village, following the untimely demise of the Shiplake Players some two decades ago.

This year SHADDO will be doing something a bit different.
We will be putting on a variety show on January 31 for just one night at Shiplake Memorial Hall. There will not be a pantomime in 2026

We’re having a Wicked time rehearsing The Wizard of Oz, and soon you’ll be able to get your hands on tickets!

This year, we’re trying a little something new - selling online! You can get ordering from 26th December. Fear not if you prefer popping to the corner shop to purchase, they’ll have ‘em there too! So, when the time comes, FLY MY PRETTY’S and get them before they’re gone! More details to follow soon.

After a boiling summer where we’ve all melting… MELTING, it’s time to get our Panto on the (yellow brick) road!

This year, it’s the Wizard of Oz. Squeeze on your ruby slippers, get yourself out of Kansas (or Binfield Heath if that’s easier), and down to the Shiplake Memorial Hall on Monday 16th September at 7.30pm. We’ll be holding a relaxed read through/casting session, where you can reunite with old friends, or if you’re trying us out for the first time, meet some new ones!
