This is our history - our lead Consultant is Jasper Gilder MA (Hons) FCIPD who has been working in training and development since Jan 1980
After spells at Unilever, Scottish and Newcastle PLC and Dixons Stores Group, Jasper Gilder was born as a training and coaching business in 1989. We started off diving into Logistics (where we still are) and the public sector. DHL now own Tibbett and Britten
and Exel Logistics, we worked with both - being very proud to have first and second line training at Exel contracted out to us, so we effectively became a training department outside the business, running on-site events for big sites and setting up up to 90 programmes a year for delegates from other sites who couldn’t manage an on-site solution. The contract lasted until the DHL takeover in 2005 and in the 16 years we ran hundreds of training programmes and trained thousands of delegates. Logistics called from other areas, so we have also worked with Christian Salvesen and TDG (now part of XPO) CEVA Logistics, BMW Parts logistics, Port of Tilbury, NFT and Nagel Langdons as well as smaller businesses through what is now the Cold Chain Federation. Parcels also have played a part with many courses run for Hermes
It’s not all logistics - we worked extensively with B&Q and later Wickes. We have worked with local authorities such as Stevenage, Government Departments including Difd, the Department for Transport and the Cabinet Office. We have worked in manufacturing, process industries, sports - including the BRSCC and Motorsport UK
In 2000 we started working with small business and through Business Link East ran up to 60 short workshops a year for groups of up to 50 small businesses and we continue to work coaching the owners and senior teams in small businesses
In the ‘90s we formed a relationship with the Centre for Research in Innovation Management at the University of Brighton. We have developed training and benchmarking linked to their work on employee engagement, training on inter-organisational networking and we are licensed to run their brilliant Managing Innovation workshops which were developed with Barnes and Conti of Oakland. We are currently working with Dr Dave Francis on developing projects linked to his latest work on Exploiting Agility for Competitive Advantage
We continue to run training programmes for organisations who want to get their managers on track, covering leadership, management and challenging issues. We training in influence and negotiation, but more and more we find ourselves coaching senior managers and directors to help them become more effective and efficient so as to get their profits up. Bev Gilder has been part of the business for a long time and she is a master coach and certified NLP trainer, specialising in helping people through significant change
Its been a great journey and we aren’t finished yet!
