Shopping list for today.....I always write mine out as I love writing with a pad and pen and this also helps my children seeing how writing can be done in any way. As it is also left in the kitchen the children can add to it, which surprisingly they haven't done this time. I'm hoping because of the heat they just want fruit and pasta dishes.....

And it'll be hot again this week - so lots of water, water based fruits and Mediterranean meals to be cooked...so I'll be off to supermarket and then maybe for a little walk too. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon everyone....

Creativity lives in our house..... yesterday without prompting or guidance my daughter and niece made chalk pictures. Beautiful colours and a request now that we get more chalk and next time make chalk paint - which I said yes to.
Creativity like this is disappearing in our classrooms and in our lives as sadly screens take over. But I saw hope yesterday teaching my own daughter who is training in early education herself why creativity like this is so important. It allows us to make mistakes but also allows us to think about the way colours mix, using our fingers to smudge and what that will do and also how water and brushes can change the chalk too.
Unfortunately our chalk pictures are now gone and we've had rain - hooray... but more chalk is needed everywhere in our lives.....

Had a lovely visit to our local city today....it was warm and buzzing. The local museum, cathedral and library have exhibitions all summer and things to do for the kids in this long summer break. But it's ok if you do nothing too..... let's make this the summer of reconnecting, relaxing and rediscovering.
