Did somebody say… Storytellers in SPACE!?! 👽☄️🪐💜💫🚀

Check out this fantastic new Space-themed area in The Little Storytellers room!

This big, bright area is designed to be super-exciting and stimulating for the little ones ✨

This theme supports language development, through the children learning words such as “star”, “planet”, “rocket”, “moon” etc, through our conversations about the display 🗣️

The exciting space theme encourages children to be curious about the universe, astronauts, and sparks an early interest in science! 🔭🧑‍🔬🔬

We look forwards to really enjoying this space with the Storytellers over the coming weeks!

New topic in the Tiny Dreamers room - “That’s not my…” books! 🐸🐷🏴‍☠️✈️🧜‍♀️🦁

There is a reason these books are adored by so many people. The little ones absolutely love them, and they offer absolutely loads of developmental benefits for babies! 👶

👇 Sensory Development - The babies explore the different textures and surfaces with their fingers. This builds neural pathways in the brain!

🗣️ Language and communication- They are able to hear words such as “bumpy, fuzzy, soft”… etc, and pair these textures with the language.

🧠 Cognitive and motor skills - Reaching for, grabbing and tracing fingers on the book’s surface strengthens hand-eye coordination and helps to build the small muscles in the hand! 🤚

🎒 Starting School in September 2027? 🎒

A little reminder for our Preschool families that school applications will be opening soon for children due to start school in September 2027. 🏫✨

Choosing and applying for your child's school place is an exciting milestone, and we understand that it can also feel a little daunting!

If your child is due to start Reception in September 2027, please make sure you complete your school application before the deadline:

📅 Primary / Reception / Junior / Middle School Application Deadline:
Friday 15th January 2027

Applications can be made online through the Hertfordshire school admissions website.

We would encourage families to start thinking about local schools, attend any open days where possible, and ensure your application is submitted before the deadline. 💻

Here in Preschool, we will continue supporting the children as they prepare for their exciting transition to school by developing their confidence, independence, communication, social skills and love of learning. 🌟

If you have any questions or would like support regarding your child's transition to school, please feel free to speak to a member of the Preschool team. We are always happy to help! 💛
