Today we made some bird feeders!
It was a lovely little activity, putting food out for the birds is something Davey loves to do.
When we lost our french bulldog Blue 2 years ago we told Davey he was now an angel flying in the sky. He said “like a bird?”. We went with it and said yes.

Some people believe Robins are loved ones they have lost coming to visit.

It gave him comfort and just seemed right for him. Now every Robin he sees in our garden he thinks it’s Blue. We have lost other loved ones and the same goes for them 👼 ❤️

Cleo is so excited to get back to nursery, I’m slightly anxious but excited for her. She can’t wait to play with all her friends, I already can’t wait to pick her up and hear about her day 🥰

I’m not sure Davey will be as excited next week, he wants to see all he friends and teachers but I know he also likes being at home with us. I’m sure we will have lots of emotions this week and I will make sure we talk about them.
Once he is at school I know he will love it 😊

It seems things are heading in the right direction with the pandemic, I know I’m looking forward to being able to do what we used to, holiday, see friends, go out to dinner, go to the zoo!
But I’m also very anxious about it, I’m not able to see myself feeling comfortable in a room full of people just yet, it just seems weird!
Are other people feeling the same?
One day at a time, and remember everyone will have their own pace.

Good luck to everyone with the last week of home schooling, there will be lots of emotions so just go with it. These little people have been through a lot, so much change and have been amazing.
Us as parents have done a pretty good job too! ❤️ Try and enjoy this last week with them, you may miss them just a little when they go back! 🥰 xx

What do the animals weigh? 🐄

I got these weighting scales for the kids play kitchen a while ago. They love pretending to weigh out all the food, and reading off the numbers. You can pick up a cheap set of scales at the pound shop!

They came in very handy for this for this activity. We weighed all the animals, wrote them down then worked out which one was the heaviest and the lightest.

Using our new science lab kit Davey for for Christmas I popped some coloured water in the tubes and some foam bath spray for them to experiment with!

Normally I would do this on our tray but if I’m honest I had enough tidying to do and we had run out of time that day! 🤣
_
So as it was water play I though why not take it to the bath with us! Win win!!🙌🏼

They absolutely loved this! We mixed the colours to see what other colours we could make, we talked about the numbers on the side of the jug. What they measured, why they were there and what the numbers were. We made up funny names for all the potions they made.

Davey made a potion called ‘foggy breakfast’ 🤣 I have no idea why haha! He said if Daddy puts it on his toes he will get better!
It must of worked because Daddy came down today and the kids had their first cuddle with him in two weeks! 🥰

Sharing this again as it’s one of my most favourite set ups and can be a quick set up!
You could easily use a piece of green and blue paper for the land and water if you don’t have aqua beads. Or just a washing up bowl or tray with water in and a cardboard box for land!

They had to put the animals in either land (green/brown tray) or water (blue tray) or both!

Davey made a tree section, as some animals live in trees 👏🏼
Daddy had a great idea to sort the animals into 🌿 herbivores and 🥩 carnivores, Davey did this on his own and only got one wrong! 🙌🏼 well done mate! Daddy and Davey discussed how some animals eat both.
Davey also wanted to talk about different habitats. Daddy was shocked, go Davey!! 🤣
It’s really amazing how much kids actually know about the things they are most interested in.

This air dry play foam is great.
These were from the great stocking fillers, I just couldn’t wait! 🙈
You can mould this stuff to any shape. It’s not that sticky but it does stick together. It’s hard to explain. You just have to try it. A must sensory experience. Cleo is normally really funny about sticky, slimy, messy things, but she loves this because it’s dry. There are lots of different makes, I found a cheap one today £3 for lots of colours, again

Today was all about ME! 🙌🏼

I’ve really not been looking after me recently, I just about run a brush through my hair in the mornings 😬 let alone all the other stuff!
_
So today I decided to take a little me time, and sort myself out!
_
I coloured my hair, oh my roots were bad! I tinted my lashes and my brows, I shaved my legs! That took a while 🙈 defo going to feel the cold on the school in a bit 🤣 I whitened my teeth, curled my hair - I haven’t done that for months - put some make up on amd even some perfume. I’m not going anywhere but it just feels nice to look nice for a change! The mum bun, joggers, just rolled out of bed look has been going on far too long!
_
So the T.v (and a little help from my wonderful husband) took over the entertainment today!
Cleo has watch around around 20 paw patrols, and eaten all the snacks you can imagine, the washing up is still piled high, no washing has been done and the house is a mess!
_
But I feel incredible! 🤣
_
When I came down Cleo looked at me, then cuddled me and said mummy your beautiful. 🥺 I honestly nearly cried! Even my husband said oh wow! Your back! Gave me a cuddle and a sneaky bum squeeze! 🙈
_
Do I feel guilty Cleo has been in front of the Tv all day? and the house is a mess?
Nope!
_
Sometime us parents just need to take some time for me. Do those little things that make you feel good about you.
_
It’s amazing how good just washing your hair can make you feel! 😘
