🎃💦 Pumpkins & Water Play 💦🎃

Autumn-inspired sensory play at its best! 🍂🧡

Our little ones explored pumpkins in the water, splashing, scooping, pouring and discovering what happens when we combine natural treasures with water play. 💧

So much learning happening through simple, child-led experiences — developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, early maths, language and curiosity as we investigate together. 🌿

We love offering open-ended opportunities for children to explore, experiment and follow their own ideas. No fancy toys needed, just a little imagination and lots of hands-on fun! 🍁🎃

19 years of childminding! 🥳❤️

Today marks 19 wonderful years of being a childminder! ❤️

19 years of little hands to hold, adventures to share, milestones to celebrate and memories to treasure. 🥹

When I first started this journey, I could never have imagined just how many wonderful children and families would become part of my story. Each child has brought something special, and over the years, I've had the privilege of watching so many little people grow, learn and flourish, whilst playing a small part in their own stories along the way 🥰

Here's to 19 years of doing a job I love, and to all the little lives that have made the journey so special. ❤️

🌿✨ Wraparound care, led by the children! ✨🌿

At Sam Goldsworthy Childminding, we believe children should have a voice in how they spend their time with us. 💚

Each week, our wraparound children get to vote for what they would like to do! 🗳️

Whether it’s crafts 🎨, Lego 🧱, magnets 🧲, playdough, games 🎲 or snuggling up with a good book 📚, we love giving the children the opportunity to share their ideas and help shape our plans.

By involving the children in decision-making, we are supporting:

💬 Communication and language – sharing ideas and listening to others.

🤝 Democracy and British Values – voting, having a voice and respecting the majority decision.

💚 Independence and confidence – knowing their ideas matter.

✨ A sense of belonging – creating a space where everyone feels valued.

Sometimes the simplest activities lead to the happiest moments! 💚

Our wraparound care is about more than just the hours around school. It’s about building friendships, following children’s interests and creating an environment where they feel listened to, involved and excited to come back.

Their voices, their choices, their play. 🌿💚

From chilly mornings in the woods to breezy days at the beach, there’s nothing quite like a warm drink when you’re embracing the great outdoors. 🌳🌊

Looking after our team, one warm cuppa at a time! 🥰

🍂🥣 Autumn Soup Play 🥣🍂

A little bit of autumn magic in our outdoor kitchen! 🍁✨

Collecting fallen leaves, conkers, sticks and other autumn treasures to create our very own autumn soup. 🌿🍂

Scooping, pouring, mixing and stirring, with plenty of imagination and wonderful opportunities for language, creativity and sensory exploration.

Our little chefs were busy experimenting with nature’s ingredients, making potions and serving up delicious bowls of pretend soup! 🥄🧡

It’s amazing how the simplest natural resources can inspire such rich, child-led play. No fancy toys needed, just a little imagination and the great outdoors! 🌳

🍂🤎 Hygge Friday | Gingerbread Men 🤎🍂

There’s something so special about slowing down and baking together on a Friday 🥰

Today we embraced a little Hygge magic, making our very own gingerbread men! 👩‍🍳✨ From mixing and rolling the dough to cutting out our gingerbread shapes, there were so many opportunities for little hands to get involved.

🌿 Exploring textures and smells
🧮 Practising early maths through measuring and counting
🤎 Developing fine motor skills
💬 Building language through conversation
🍪 Creating memories and enjoying the simple pleasures of baking together

And of course, the best bit… enjoying our delicious gingerbread creations! 😋

Hygge is all about finding comfort, connection and joy in the little things — and what better way to spend a Friday than baking, chatting and making memories together? 🧡

🐯☕️ The Tiger Who Came to Tea… at the beach! 🏖️

We took one of our favourite stories outdoors today and set up a little tea party on the beach for our very special guest… 🐯

With a tea set, cups, plates and plenty of imagination, the children created their own seaside version of The Tiger Who Came to Tea by Judith Kerr.

The beach became our tea room, the sand became the kitchen and the children became storytellers, acting out their own ideas and creating new adventures for the tiger. 🫖🍰

It was lovely to see imaginative play, communication, turn-taking and storytelling naturally woven into our outdoor play.

And of course… we had to wonder what a tiger might eat at a beach tea party! 🐯👀
