๐ช Their circus. Their idea. Their 24-hour challenge. ๐ช
Today, our young people officially launch the Cirk Hes Youth Circus Cirk-A-Thon, ahead of our Charity's 23rd anniversary on 29 July โ and this fundraiser is particularly special.
For the first time, our Youth Circus members and their families have devised and organised a fundraising campaign themselves. They have even created the promotional video accompanying this post. We could not be prouder of their creativity, commitment and determination to support the circus community they love. ๐
Their goal is to raise ยฃ1,000 โ enough to help keep our Youth Circus training running for a month and support our free and concessionary access schemes, helping ensure circus remains accessible to everyone.
What is the Cirk-A-Thon?
On 12 August โ International Youth Day โ our young people will attempt to complete 24 hours immersed in circus activity!
They are seeking donations and hourly sponsorship from local businesses, community members, friends and family to help carry them through the challenge.
Their 24-hour circus adventure will include:
๐ช A free ground-based and aerial circus workshop in Events Square, Coronation Park Helston
๐ญ A free circus show in the park
๐ฅ A parade through Helston, visiting sponsoring businesses and shops for photographs and thank-yous
๐ฅค A cheeky refreshment stop at Trevow Helston, with refreshments kindly supplied by Sainsburys, Helston
๐คน A return to Cirk Hes to continue circus training until they drop
๐ฌ An evening of back-to-back Cirque du Soleil shows โ with The Greatest Showman making at least one appearance
๐ A Youth Circus sleepover in the space
๐ฅ A well-earned circus brunch before heading home
Weโll share hourly updates throughout the challenge, so supporters can follow their progress and see evidence of their non-stop circus antics.
They have already raised an amazing ยฃ230 on official campaign launch day!
A huge thank-you to our wonderful first donor, local business Serenity Fire in Truro, whose generous ยฃ100 donation started the ball rolling, and to Mr James Roberts and Mr Andrew Walsh for adding their support. We cannot thank you enough on behalf of our young people.
Every donation or sponsored hour will take them closer to their goal.

Help them stay up, keep moving and keep circus accessible โ one hour at a time.
Lastly we would like to thank Circus Funtasia who are currently in town. For inviting our youngsters to their phenomenal new show, and inspiring them during their time with us. (They are only here until August 9 so see them while you can!).
