Helston Fire Station Annual Events Day
Sunday 2nd August
Meet the Vendor - Glassy Bird
We are excited to welcome back Glassy Bird for the 3rd year. Sharon is based in Helston and makes the most amazing fused glass items but we'll let you read a little bit about it from her..
Glassy Bird is delighted to be returning for a third year! It's such a fantastic, completely free event that's perfect for the whole family, and I'm so excited to be part of it again. π
A little bit about me⦠I'm Glassy Bird (or just Sharon!), a fused glass artist based in Helston. I've been creating fused glass for around 14 years, working from my little garden studio, where every piece is carefully designed and kiln-fired by hand.
From the first cut of glass to the final firing, each creation is made with love and attention to detail. Because of the nature of fused glass, no two pieces are ever exactly the same, making every item truly unique. I love creating colourful, affordable artwork that's fun, a little quirky, and brings a smile to people's faces.
Fused glass is a fascinating art form. The texture, movement and character of each piece develop during the firing process, with kiln temperatures sometimes exceeding 900Β°C. Every firing produces something slightly different, which is part of the magic and why I love working with glass so much.
Please pop in and say hello xx
