✨KS2 CAREERS FAIR ✨

The children have had a fantastic time at our very own Careers Fair today! From exploring exciting career paths, asking brilliant questions and thinking about their futures, the children have been fully engaged and inspired throughout the morning.

A HUGE thank you to all of our parents/carers and community members who have given up their time to speak to the children and support this event - we couldn’t have done it without you, and your experience and enthusiasm really made the morning what it was!

We hope you've been enjoying the lovely sunshine this weekend! With the forecast predicting very warm weather for the week ahead, we are kindly asking for the following to ensure everyone stays safe, healthy & happy in school:

☀ Children to bring a named hat to school each day that they can wear at break/lunchtime.

☀ Children to bring a named, refillable water bottle to school each day.

☀ Children to have sun cream applied before they come to school in the morning and have some in their bag so they can reapply as required throughout the day.

Our school uniform expectations for the week will be more relaxed. Children may wear their school PE kits, summer dresses or blue polo shirts & shorts to help keep them comfortable. We will be making the most of the shaded areas around school when outside.

In this half term's art unit, St Anthony Class have been exploring different techniques for shading, creating observational sketches and using charcoal to create atmosphere in their artwork. They look amazing - well done, everyone! 🖌🎨

St Anthony Class thoroughly enjoyed joining Michael Morpurgo virtually this month for the 'All Aboard the Storytime Express' live lesson. Over 50,000 school children tuned in online to watch Sir Michael read from his book 'Flying Scotsman and the Best Birthday Ever' live from the National Railway Museum! 📚

Mrs Hancock was absolutely delighted to host one of our directors, Mr Earnshaw, our Trust Academy Improvement Lead, Mrs Bolton, and Heads of School from across Aspire Academy Trust at Manaccan this month. A fantastic opportunity to collaborate, but also for visitors to see our amazing school! ✨

Children in Key Stage 1 have been learning about how we can all take care of animal habitats in their Science activities this half term. Last week, the children completed a litter pick in our garden area, which is visited by lots of different wildlife! ♻

In their new Science learning, Year 3 & 4 have been making circuits using cells, wires and bulbs. They have identified the factors which make a circuit work and those which prevent a bulb from shining 💡
