An incredibly interesting day hosted by Kestle Barton with the top children’s author Tom Palmer. He gave a very honest and inspiring talk detailing some of the struggles he himself had with reading and writing growing up. He also shared the writing process he uses to research, plan and organise his thoughts, bringing the writing process to life.

The afternoon’s workshop was led by the Museum of Cornish Life. They shared lots of artefacts from WW1 and 2; the inspiration for many of Tom Palmers books.

Many thanks to all involved in providing the children with such a fantastic opportunity.

It was the turn of Primrose class to represent Coverack this morning at the KS1 multi-skills event. The children showed fantastic sportsmanship and manners, embracing both the team spirit and competitive nature of the event. Once again they proved the small but mighty Coverack spirit is going strong, finishing in second place overall. Many thanks to St Keverne Primary School for hosting, and DT Coaching for organising, another successful celebration of sports.

The children in Primrose class could barely believe their eyes when they came into school this morning. A magical beanstalk had sprung up overnight! They were so excited to tell their friends in the rest of the school.

We are looking forward to seeing the wonderful work over the coming weeks inspired by the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.

On Saturday, children from Coverack represented our school in the annual Norman Nicholls football tournament. They supported each other throughout upholding our school values of respect, perseverance and friendship. Their unwavering determination and support for each other saw them qualify through the group stages to the quarter finals; no small feat for a team of children ranging from year 1 through to year 6. They were beaten to a spot in the semi-finals by a highly skilled Parc Eglos team. We are exceptionally proud of them all, well done team Coverack.
