What another wonderful afternoon at the farm exploring the orchard.

We learnt about how trees respond and recover to stressors in their environment such as the long hot summer we’ve had and storm Goretti.

We collected sticks to make journey webs. These were used to collate signs of Autumn we spotted as we walked through the farm.

We found a tree over 100 years old. It was so wide it took our entire class linking arms to reach right around its circumference!

Thank you Cornish Camels for another memorable educational experience right on our doorstep.

The children really enjoyed welcoming their parents and carers today for our open afternoon. Our Ks1 children were looking for signs of Autumn. They explored our field and brought some of their finds indoors. They then made clay hedgehogs (a great finger fit activity) before using the resources they found to make places for their hedgehogs to hibernate.

We finished off with a whole school game of food webs, considering the complex links between animals and plants.

We have had an incredible time looking at the nature incorporated in the fascinating artwork at the Kurt Jackson gallery. We were inspired to make our own sculptures representing the balance between humans and nature and are bringing them back to school for our Aspiration room.

We have arrived at the Kurt Jackson gallery in St Just and are looking forward to perusing the beautiful works of art.

Welcome to Coverack School. We would love to welcome new children to our Coverack family to experience the joys of a small school with a big heart and a bespoke, outdoors approach to learning in small groups. Come and join us on our journey to be an accredited Beach School and Water Smart School this year. We are able to offer private tours of the school Monday to Friday from 8.30am- 6pm and on Saturdays.
