We take Ownership 🧭

Mr Riches has been busy this weekend, painting the early years area ahead of our children returning on Monday! 🎨👨‍🎨

All this to encourage further writing opportunities and creativity whilst our children access our EYFS garden. 🪏 🪴

I wonder what is next on the list of improvements currently ongoing at Halwin…

🧭✨ Our Culture Compass is pointing towards a fantastic week ahead at Halwin!

The dinosaurs are ready, the maths challenges are waiting, and the creative area is prepared for masterpieces that will almost certainly involve a little glue in unexpected places! 🦕🎨🔢

This week, we'll be taking ownership of our learning, showing curiosity as we explore new challenges, and remembering that we matter because every child brings something special to our school community. 💚

Now all we need is the children to arrive and bring the curiosity, laughter and endless questions!

🌿🎨 Outdoor Education Meets Pop Art!

Our pupils loved creating Andy Warhol-inspired artwork using natural materials found outdoors. A fantastic way to combine creativity, teamwork and learning in nature!

At Halwin, our small-school setting helps every child feel valued, take ownership of their learning and thrive through hands-on experiences. 🌟

A fantastic day at the Hall for Cornwall last week for SongFest 2026 with Asone Music Hub! 🎶

Our children joined schools from across Cornwall as part of a mass choir, performing songs they’ve been learning all term. They also enjoyed listening to a range of musicians and youth choirs.

They represented Halwin School beautifully — we couldn’t be prouder!

Wishing everyone a joyful Easter! We’re delighted to share some photos from our recent visit to Trinity Church. A big thank you to the church community for hosting the whole school so warmly, providing every child with a snack and a lovely Easter activity bag. A truly special Easter visit.

Thank you for supporting our non-uniform day in aid of Penhaligons Friends. The children enjoyed a sunny day in their own clothes while helping raise money for a very special cause, chosen by the Crofty Education Trust Pupil Parliament.
