🎉 New Forces & Me After-School Club!

I'm excited to announce that a new Forces & Me After School Club will be starting on Thursday 3rd September at 3.30pm. (open to children P1 - P7 from a serving Armed Forces family).

📍 Venue: To be confirmed but central Helensburgh

Application forms will be available soon, and I will send these directly to everyone who has already expressed an interest and completed the registration form.

I'm delighted to say we've had a good response, with lots of expressions of interest! 🎉

The club will hopefully be starting at the end of August.

If you have already completed the expression of interest form, registration forms will be sent to you in due course.

I’m exploring the possibility of starting a Forces & Me After School Club for P1 - P7 children from Armed Forces families (regular and reserve) - facilitated by The Exchange and Funded by The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.

The club would be a fun, friendly space where children can:
✨ Meet others from Armed Forces families
🤝 Build friendships
🎨 Take part in fun activities/crafts
💜 Feel supported and connected

🕞 Proposed time: 3:30pm after school
📅 Possible days: Wednesday or Thursday
📍 Possible venue: Central Helensburgh, Drumfork Club, Centre 81 Garelochhead

I'm looking for expressions of interest to help decide if there is enough demand.

These free sessions are open to children and young people from serving Armed Forces families and provide a fun, supportive environment to build confidence, make friends and get creative.

Unfortunately, I have made the decision to cancel the Transition Days scheduled for Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd July due to insufficient bookings.

The sessions planned for next week also have very low numbers at present and may need to be cancelled if bookings do not increase.

I would really value your feedback. Is there a particular reason families aren't booking? Is it the timings, dates, the type of support being offered, or are families simply not aware of the sessions?

My aim is to provide support that genuinely meets the needs of Armed Forces children and their families, so any feedback or suggestions on what would encourage children to attend in the future would be greatly appreciated.
