Introducing our well being station which is situated next to the parent notice board.
Currently it offers a selection of items from 'Breakfast on the go', sun screen and sun hats should the weather take us off guard, a book exchange for the grown ups, and some packs of toothbrushes and toothpaste for our little ones.
Forward thinking, we thought that a school uniform exchange could be of use as we head towards the end of this academic year. We'd love to hear of any ideas that you may have that could make a difference to the families of our school community, and if there is any way that you could contribute, it will be gratefully received.
Thank you to all that have accessed the station so far, your feedback has been overwhelmingly kind and very much appreciated.

Sunshine tiptoes through the sky,
Painting gold where clouds drift by.
Petals wake and stretch so wide,
smiling faces side by side.
Bumblebees hum merry tunes,
dancing under lazy noons.
Butterflies in colours bright,
twirl and sparkle in the light.
Every leaf and blossom knows,
how the summer garden grows.
With a hug from morning rays,
And the song of sunny days.

Buds, Blossoms and Blooms have been celebrating this lovely weather in our garden investigating the wildflowers and insects.

Passion for the outdoors is caught, not taught.
It is passed along through muddy boots, curious questions and quiet wonder of time shared in nature together.

Along Buds walk we had lots of pointing and questioning ”what’s that?“ to the natural surroundings and sounds. The children returned to Nursery joyful after their shared experience.

Today we have celebrated the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough, a man, whose life‘s work has opened our eyes to the wonder and beauty of the natural world.
To celebrate Blossoms went on a mini beast hunt, made animal party hats and finished with a wonderful morning tea. A lovely time was had by all the children.

Today a few members of Blooms class took a walk to West Hill Primary School with a very important task to complete.
We delivered invitations to teachers asking if they would like to visit our nursery to share some stories with us, they all said yes and were so happy to oblige.

We then carried out an act of kindness. Last year we harvested the seeds from our magnificent sunflowers and delivered a pack to Mr Wheeler and Class 3. He was moved by our kind gesture, and loved that a part of Hednesford Nursery School would go on to bloom in West Hill’s outdoor space.

Can you be a role model to someone in for pleasure, or carry out a random act of kindness?

Mrs Taylor recently completed a course - ‘Boy talk’ which highlighted the importance of children being exposed to male role models engaging in reading for pleasure. This exposure is highly impactful for both boys and girls.
As a federation we are fortunate to be able to support each other as settings, Mr Wheeler a teacher from West Hill visited yesterday and delivered a fantastic session to each class, which was inspiring and motivating for all.

“What better way to start a Monday morning than reading with children”, “It’s good to see the link between the schools, and how we can have an influence and inspire each other’s teaching”.

Mr Wheeler had a fabulous time during his visit and we look forward to welcoming him again, along with more inspiring role models to enhance our children’s experiences.
