Noah's neurodiverse journey

So yesterday at the park I had to go and take myself off to the toilets to compose!

Thankfully this time it was from the kindness of strangers rather than judgement or criticism which is sadly what we normally get 😢

Noah had a huge meltdown as there were a couple of children in the park flying their gliders and he really wanted one to join in. When the children had finished they came to play in the park and their mum could see Noah was visibly upset, she asked if he was ok so we explained about the gliders. She very kindly said Noah could play with one while the children were playing in the park. As they came to leave we went to hand them the glider back and she very kindly said she could see how much Noah was enjoying himself and very kindly said Noah could keep it, that her daughter was autistic and she knows how hard it can be.

This single act of kindness completely took me by surprise and I had to go and compose myself. It just goes to show that there are some lovely people in the world and I will continue to advocate and educate so more people can be understanding and accepting of those with additional needs 🥰

Got that Friday feeling!!!!!

What are everyone's plans?

I'm starting off with attending a health and wellbeing meeting to help debate, influence and shape local policies and services 🩵

Then I'm taking some self care time and going to get a full eye care package and spray tan 👁️🤎

Then it's off to another meeting with our local MP to discuss the new SEND reforms 📢

A productive Friday doing what I'm passionate about, advocating for our SEND community but also remembering to take care of myself as well 🥰

I couldn't put Noah to bed tonight as I had a teams meeting so Garry put him to bed and recorded him saying this 😭

To most this will seem like a simple question but to me this is everything because.......

I know how hard he had to work to say this 💪🏻
I once thought I would never hear his voice 👂🏻
He is making huge developmental progress 🧠

So yes to some it's probably nothing and has no meaning but to me it literally is the world and I will forever cherish it 🥰

So Sofia came out of nursery this afternoon with a WOW certificate! Not only did she tidy up when asked to she then also went and helped her peers tidy away and taught the younger children where to put them back into the right place 😍

Noah being her brother has helped to teach Sofia compassion and inclusion from a very young age 🥹

Sofia we are SO proud of you 🥰

Getting to make memories with my gorgeous girl as she is about to turn 4!

Where has the time gone Sofia?

As you are about to turn 4 we just wanted to tell you how proud we are of you. Your a sassy, funny, clever and caring girl who is full of love and along with your big sister Livia Louise are the biggest advocate for your brother. Not only Noah though we know you are going to be a huge advocate for the SEND community and promote inclusivity wherever you go 🥰
