Day 3 Update – Kip in a Ship Residential 🏰👑

And that’s a wrap on an unforgettable London residential!

We kicked off our final morning packing up our belongings—and the children were amazingly independent getting everything ready and sorted. After one last breakfast on board, we enjoyed a mini history lesson about the HMS Belfast before heading across Tower Bridge and over to the Tower of London.

The children took part in a brilliant, immersive workshop on Crime & Punishment (tying in perfectly with their Year 5 topic!), followed by a walk through to marvel at the Crown Jewels. After a quick bite of lunch, it was time to make our way to the station.

We are now on the train heading home... and it is definitely a lot quieter than the journey here was! 😴🚆

Day 2 Update – Kip in a Ship Residential

It’s been another fantastic, full-on day here in London!

We were up early for breakfast on the ship at 8am before taking a walk along to the Southbank. The morning flew by with a visit to Shrek’s Adventure, a ride on the London Eye seeing lots of London’s landmarks, followed by some well-earned park playtime.

The highlight of the afternoon was walking over to the Lyceum Theatre to watch The Lion King. The children were completely mesmerised by the show, and their behaviour was truly exceptional. Afterwards, we had our pizzas at Franco Manca, which went down a treat!

We’re now back on the ship, in our pyjamas, and winding down with a movie night. We have felt incredibly proud of the children today; there has been a LOT of walking and they’ve been so independent, resilient and responsible (with minimal complaining too). 🤩

Another successful day!

Day 1 Update - Kip in a Ship Residential

What a brilliant first day in London!

After a park lunch to burn off some energy, the children had an immersive visit to the Golden Hinde, followed by a tour of the impressive HMS Belfast. There was plenty of excitement as they set up their bunk beds and ate dinner out of real mess tins!
To wrap up the evening, they went on a night tour of the ship and did a creative activity in the ship's classroom.

All the children are now tucked up in their bunks, fast asleep (or nearly!), and ready for another big day tomorrow.

🚆All aboard! 💺
Year 6 (and all of their luggage🤪) have made it onto the train and are on the way to our London residential. Lots of the children are playing games, drawing and there is an excited chatter in the air! 🤩

Tomorrow, Friday 26th June

Early closure due to high temperatures in classrooms and school building.

Please arrange collection for all pupils at 1.15pm.
Lunches will go ahead as usual.
All afterschool clubs including wraparound are cancelled.

⛱️😎Shady spots when it is super hot!

As part of our adaptations for the hot weather, classrooms are open for quiet activities throughout lunchtime play, and we also have the benefit of several shady spots for children to relax in, feel the breeze and cool off!

🔥 Hot weather update 🌞

As per our email to families, school remains open tomorrow with a variety of adjustments in place.

We will monitor the temperature of the classrooms and act accordingly.

KS2 Sports Day is postponed to Friday 3rd July
