Some of you may have noticed we’ve had the vets visiting quite a lot over the past week. Sadly, our lovely goat Boris has been very poorly and despite everyone’s efforts, today we have had to say goodbye. It was the kindest thing we could do for him💔

Boris has been such a special part of our nursery family and he will be hugely missed by his best friends Stanley and Freddie, all of our children, staff and everyone who has loved visiting him over the years.

Thank you to everyone who has asked about him and shown him so much love. We know many of our children have very special memories with Boris and we will all miss seeing his cheeky little face 🐐❤️

We’re excited to be creating a new Curiosity Corner in our pre-school room. It will be a space where children can explore, investigate and ask lots of “I wonder…” questions.

To help bring this area to life, we are looking for any old or interesting items families may have at home that they no longer need.

We would love things such as:
- Old typewriters
- Old cameras
- Vintage telephones
- Pocket watches or small clocks
- Old keys
- Interesting mechanical objects or tools
- Unusual natural items (shells, pinecones, stones etc.)

Children love exploring real objects and it helps spark their curiosity, imagination and conversations.

If you have anything that you’d be happy to donate, we would be very grateful! Please speak to a member of staff or bring items in to nursery.

Thank you,

Harriet 😊

📚 World Book Day 📚

To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, we invite the children to come to nursery dressed as their favourite book character!

Please don’t go out of your way to purchase any costumes. We have plenty spare at nursery for the little ones if you are struggling.

We look forward to having a fun filled day with lots of fun activities!

⭐️ Parent Notice ⭐️

As some of you may have seen, we have made a start at redecorating, beginning in the hall.

Please take care when coming in and out and excuse the mess over the next few weeks!! We’ll do our best to keep the mess to a minimum.

Thank you,

Harriet ☺️

⛔️ IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS & CARERS ⛔️

Despite repeated reminders, children are still being brought in unwell . This includes those with high temperatures, sickness, diarrhoea, viral symptoms and general signs of being unwell. This is causing illnesses to continuously spread between children and staff.

We also want to make parents aware that one of our children has recently been hospitalised with high temperatures and has tested positive for COVID. This reinforces how important it is to follow and temporarily review our illness policies.

Therefore, if your child arrives with a high temperature or develops one whilst in our care, they will be sent home. We want to be clear that we don’t usually send children home instantly with a temperature, but due to how quickly this viral illness is circulating, we now have no choice but to do so for the time being.

Just to remind you again -
- 48 hours at home after the last episode of sickness or diarrhoea
- 48 hours at home after starting antibiotics
- Keep them home if they are generally unwell, overly tired, complaining of feeling sick or simply “not themselves”

We also want to make it very clear that we are not here to nurse unwell children. If your child is too poorly to cope with nursery, they need to be at home resting.

If illness continues to spread because unwell children are being brought in, we risk having too many staff off sick to operate safely. In that situation, we may be forced to close the nursery for 48 hours to break the cycle of infection. This is absolutely not something we want to do, but it may become necessary.

Please work with us to keep everyone safe and healthy and thank you for your cooperation.

✨ Important notice to All Parents & Carers ✨

We cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your child at home when they are unwell. This is essential not only to prevent the spread of illness within the nursery, but also because it’s simply not fair on the child to attend when they’re feeling poorly.

Please remember our following policies -

- Sickness or diarrhoea - Children must stay home for 48 hours from the last episode.

- Antibiotics - Children must stay home for 48 hours after starting a new course.

- General illness - If your child is clearly unwell, has a temperature, is unusually tired, or “not themselves”, please keep them at home to rest.

We are seeing an increasing number of children being brought in while ill. This puts other children and staff at risk and causes further outbreaks.

Thank you for your cooperation.

📚 Missing Book Bag 📚

A child’s book bag has accidentally been taken home by someone. Could we please ask all parents and carers to have a look at home and if you find an extra bag that’s not yours, please bring it back to nursery.

Thank you,

Harriet x

🌟 Notice to Parents 🌟

Just a quick note to let you know that our main door has been sticking a bit more than usual. We’re aware of the issue and are already arranging for someone to come and fix it.

In the meantime, please make sure the door is fully closed behind you when entering or leaving the nursery.

Thank you,

Harriet x
