Announcement to close the school at the end of this academic year.

With a heavy heart, trustees and the College of Teachers have come to the conclusion that we should aim for a managed closure of the school at the end of this academic year. We have only just made this decision and felt it important to inform you as soon as possible.

Understandably, this will cause a lot of anxiety and questions for all parents and carers so we will be holding a Whole School Meeting on Wednesday 6th March at 7pm.

Class 1 finished the last of the knitted chickens in handwork today.

At the beginning or their handwork journey the pupils learn about wonderful wool. They card the wool and make their own knitting needles before learning how to knit, sew and stuff their projects. All of this works with their growing fine motor skills.

At the end of last term, the upperschool pupils and teachers made their annual trip to a local nursing home to sing carols to the residents. All the pupils sang with lots of confidence and stayed for an encore and mince pies.

In our upperschool citizenship lessons we regularly venture out into the community and this year our wonderful audience treated us to a box of chocolates as a thank you!

Get into the Christmas spirit with our final offering of the year- two plays performed by teachers and friends of the school.

Friday 14th December at 7pm

As is traditional at Michael House School we will be presenting the

Paradise Play

and the

Shepherds’ Play

These plays were first collected and
written down by Karl Julius Schroer, who
was one of Rudolf Steiner’s teachers.
They came from a community living on
the island of Oberufer on the Danube, and
had been passed on by oral tradition
since the Middle Ages. They represent a
unique survival of the tradition of medieval
mystery plays.

This is a free event and there will be a retiring collection at the end. Please ensure children are seated with their parents during the performance.

These plays are suitable for 9+ years
