While facing the sweltering heat today, our KS3 students still wanted to do their catering lesson, so they made their own pizzas, savoury and sweet. Then while they cooked the students made some fruit salad and fruit juice ice lollies.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the farm, over the course of the week, three of our KS4 students have completed their Functional Skills level 1 English and Maths exams. All 3 students have worked so hard to prepare for these exams and we are incredibly proud of them for doing these through a very challenging time because of the heat.

The Blue Lighthouse is pleased to say that we are now accredited to deliver Functional Skills exams through TQUK. This adds a whole new dimension to the education provision we can offer our students. Not only will they be taught by our dedicated team but they can sit their final exams with us and leave our provision with a mixture of meaningful qualifications. We offer a range of ASDAN qualifications and now Functional Skills levels 1 and 2 English and Maths.

Just a little reminder to parents/carers to please make sure that your young people bring a bottle of water, sun cream, a cap and appropriate clothing (sensory needs suited) for the heat this week.

Our little chicks have had an upgrade in their accommodation!
They’ve moved into their new penthouse suite. Students learnt about what is needed for a suitable chick coop, planned out what they would like to put in it and cleaned and prepared the space for our chicks. They then moved them into the new enclosure and monitored them to ensure that they were safe and settled.

We’ve had a busy morning at 4 Kingdoms today. Our first lambs of the season have arrived. What an amazing opportunity for our students!
