Our Ethos

Bridges Day Nursery is built on a calm and welcoming environment, where every child is treated as an individual and given the opportunity to thrive. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a strong focus on learning through play, positive relationships, and rich early experiences. We are committed to:
• Putting children first – ensuring their safety, well-being, and development is at the heart of everything we do.
• Working in partnership with parents – using daily communication and a dedicated parent app to keep families informed, involved, and valued as part of our nursery community.
• Creating a supportive team culture – where staff are trusted, invested in, and encouraged to grow alongside the nursery.
• Removing the extras – providing all essentials like meals, nappies, wipes, and sun cream so parents can feel supported and reassured.
• Laying strong foundations – by giving children the space and confidence to explore, learn and develop at their own pace, in readiness for their next stage.

🚨 Calling all our wonderful friends, families and followers… we need your help! 🥵❄️

The children (and let’s be honest… the staff too! 😅) are melting in this heat, and we’re desperately trying to get hold of another portable air conditioning unit to help keep everyone cool and comfortable.

The problem is… they seem to have disappeared from every shop we’ve tried! 😩

So we’re asking the power of Facebook…

💙 Do you have a portable air conditioning unit you would be willing to lend us for a little while?
💙 Have you spotted one in stock anywhere?
💙 Do you know a retailer that has them available?

If so, please let us know in the comments or send us a message.

Please also share this post so we can reach as many people as possible. You never know who might have one tucked away in a garage or know where we can find one!

From all of us (especially the children who would love a cooler nursery!), thank you so much for your help. ❤️

P.S. If anyone knows where all the portable air conditioners have disappeared to… we’d like a quiet word! 😂

⚠️ Nursery Closure Notice ⚠️

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing water outage affecting the area, Bridges Day Nursery is unable to open today.

We currently have no running water at the nursery and have not received any updates from South East Water regarding when the supply will be restored.

Without running water, we are unable to meet the hygiene and welfare requirements necessary to operate safely, particularly during the current hot weather.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and appreciate your understanding. We will provide further updates as soon as we receive them.

Thank you,
The Bridges Day Nursery Team

We are incredibly proud to share the outcome of our first Ofsted inspection.

Just six months after opening our doors, Bridges Day Nursery has been judged as meeting the Expected Standard.

Opening a new nursery is a huge undertaking, and achieving this outcome within our first six months is a milestone that reflects the hard work, dedication and passion of our entire team.

Since day one, our focus has been simple: to create a warm, nurturing and welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn. We are delighted that our first inspection recognised the strong foundations we have worked so hard to build.

We would like to thank our wonderful families for placing their trust in us, our fantastic staff team for their commitment each day, and of course our amazing children who make Bridges Day Nursery such a special place to be.

This is just the beginning of our journey, and we remain committed to continually developing and improving so that every child receives the very best start in life.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Bridges Day Nursery.

We are lucky to see so many wonderful father figures sharing in their children's journeys, from morning drop offs and afternoon collections to celebrating milestones and making memories together.

Today we celebrate all the dads, grandads, stepdads, uncles and father figures who help children feel safe, loved and supported.

We hope you have a fantastic Father's Day.

Yesterday at Bridges Day Nursery, we had been celebrating World Bee Day 🐝

The children have enjoyed exploring all things bees through a range of fun and hands-on activities throughout the nursery. We have read stories about bees and how they make honey, explored honeycomb shapes and patterns, created honeycomb printing, explored sticky yellow rice, and made our own little honey bees using pine cones.

The children showed lots of curiosity whilst learning about the important role bees play in our world and how they help flowers and plants grow.

A lovely busy day full of creativity, exploration, and learning 🐝🍯

Today at Bridges Day Nursery we enjoyed celebrating St George’s Day through creative activities and a traditional British themed lunch.

The children enjoyed exploring the St George’s flag through painting and mark making, helping to build creativity, coordination and confidence.

At lunchtime, our nursery cook prepared a delicious traditional mince beef, carrot and onion pie, served with mash and vegetables for the children to enjoy together.

Celebrating special days throughout the year helps children learn about traditions, community and the world around them in fun and meaningful ways.

At Bridges, we understand the importance of children having outdoor time every day. Time spent outside gives children the opportunity to explore nature, develop physically, support their wellbeing and build an early appreciation for the world around them.

Earth Day reminds us all of the importance of caring for our planet and helping future generations understand how to value and protect the world we share.

In celebration of Earth Day, we are also excited to be taking part in the Headcorn Parish Council Sunflower Growing Competition. The children will enjoy planting, caring for and watching our sunflower grow over the coming weeks.

Whether exploring the garden, planting seeds or enjoying fresh air play, outdoor experiences are a valued part of nursery life at Bridges. By giving children opportunities to connect with nature from an early age, we help build foundations for caring for our planet in the future.
