Weald Dyslexia

Weald Dyslexia Laura James offers dyslexia or learning needs assessments for primary and secondary aged children.

There is no set time for how long dyslexia assessments take, but between 2.5 and 4 hours is typical. The assessment involves a series of tests that provide information about a young person's:

- underlying ability (sometimes called non-verbal and verbal reasoning skills)
- attainment (reading, spelling, writing and maths)
- cognitive skills (phonological awareness, working memory and processing sp

eed)

The pattern of results, alongside background information from home and school that is gathered before the assessment, helps to inform the young person's unique learning profile and whether the young person has dyslexia.
