OPAL Play is Back! What an exciting term we had at the end of Summer! Everyone worked incredibly hard to get everything ready for the relaunch of our OPAL Play programme in the new school year, and we are so pleased to finally see it coming to life. A huge thank you to our wonderful school community. We are so grateful to all the parents, carers, volunteers and staff who supported our 'Love Your School Day' event. Your time, energy and generosity have helped transform our outdoor spaces into exciting places for children to play, explore and use their imaginations. Children can now enjoy a fantastic new mud kitchen, play stage, water play area, digging circle and a wide range of new play resources. It has been amazing to see these spaces already being so well used.
The children have already enjoyed a few mixed-age break times and watching them choose where they would like to play, make new friends across year groups and discover all the new equipment has been a real highlight.
From September, all children will enjoy mixed-age break times every day. We are really looking forward to continuing our OPAL journey and seeing the many benefits it brings as children develop their confidence, independence, friendships and love of outdoor play.

Our Year 6 children truly saved the best until last with their spectacular performance of Grimm โ€“ Once Upon A Musical! ๐ŸŽญโœจFrom the opening scene to the final bow, every single child gave their all. The acting, singing and dancing showcased an incredible amount of talent, confidence and teamwork, leaving audiences thoroughly entertained and immensely proud.
The magic didn't stop on stage either. Behind the scenes, the fantastic set, professional sound and impressive lighting helped bring the performance to life, creating a production that wouldn't have looked out of place in a theatre.
A huge well done to our amazing Year 6 children and to all the staff and volunteers who helped make this unforgettable show possible. It was the perfect celebration of everything our leavers have achieved during their time at WPPA.
We couldn't be prouder of you all. ๐ŸŒŸ Congratulations, Year 6โ€”we wish you every success and happiness as you begin your next exciting chapter. ๐Ÿ’™

Year 3 ending on a story telling and hand writing high. Before putting creative pens to paper, our Year 3 children took a giant step into the world of storytelling! Using a huge story timeline, the children worked together to map out the structure of a story, carefully ordering events and exploring ambitious vocabulary to describe each stage of the journey. By the end of the session, the timeline was bursting with fantastic ideas, exciting plot points and powerful descriptive language, giving every child the confidence and inspiration to begin writing.

Fast forward to the finished stories, and what an incredible achievement! The children have now published their final pieces, and they are simply phenomenal. Their handwriting is immaculate, punctuation and grammar have been applied with great accuracy, and the rich, ambitious language they have used has brought their stories to life. The pride, effort and progress shown in every piece of writing is something to be celebrated.

To borrow the words from one of our talented young authors, they truly "conquer[ed] this important task."
Well done, Year 3 โ€“ you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!

At Warden Park Primary Academy 7th July is always Finley's Touch Day . The whole-school marked the day with a fundraising coin trail challenge. Every class brought in loose change and worked together to create the longest line of coins they could. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our school community raising an incredible ยฃ1,080+ alone for the charity.

Earlier this year, Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic fundraising afternoon also in support of Finleyโ€™s Touch. Over the past term, the children were immersed in everything Ancient Egypt, and this all came together in an exciting Design and Technology project. They worked incredibly hard to design and build their own pyramids before writing persuasive descriptions to help "sell" their creations. Parents were then invited to a special voting event, where the children proudly showcased their amazing work. The afternoon was a wonderful success, raising more funds for Finleyโ€™s Touch and, just as importantly, bringing plenty of smiles to everyone involved. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported these events. Your kindness and generosity will help Finleyโ€™s Touch continue making a real difference to families who need it most

What a fantastic day our Reception children had on their visit to the beach! ๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ
After spending the whole term learning about the seaside, the sea and the creatures that live there, the children were thrilled to bring their learning to life with a trip to our local beach. They enjoyed hunting for beautiful seashells, sketching the stunning seaside scenery and, of course, cooling off with a paddle in the sea! It was wonderful to see their curiosity, creativity and excitement as they explored, discovered and experienced everything they had been learning about in the classroom. A memorable day full of smiles, laughter and hands-on learning that we're sure our Reception children will remember for a long time! ๐Ÿš๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’™

Year 4 have been bringing their Humanities topic on the USA to life through food ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒŽAs part of their learning, the children researched traditional American foods, wrote their own recipes and then put their culinary skills to the test by making delicious fajitas and bagels! The classroom was filled with teamwork, creativity and some amazing smells as pupils carefully prepared, cooked and finally enjoyed tasting their creations together. A fantastic hands-on way to explore American culture while developing important cooking, writing and research skills. Well done, Year 4! ๐Ÿ‘โœจ

๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿฆก Our Reception children have been busy caring for the wonderful woodland environment we are so lucky to have at school as part of Forest School. During the time of the Wildlife Trustsโ€™ 30 Days Wild challenge the children have learnt all about how to look after our forest and protect the wildlife that calls it home. They carefully made sure our badger setts were accessible and tidy, helping to create a safe and welcoming environment for our woodland visitors. Inspired by their learning, the children then turned their hand to charcoal drawings of badgers โ€” and we have been absolutely blown away by their final artwork! We were especially excited after recently capturing deer on camera in our woodland โ€” wildlife we didnโ€™t even realise we had on site! What a wonderful way to encourage curiosity, creativity and care for the natural world from such a young age.

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿฅ What a fantastic start to our new Breakfast and Books session this morning! As part of our commitment to promoting Reading for Pleasure and making the most of our wonderful library, we have launched this invitation-only initiative for selected children before school each week. Children enjoyed spending time reading alongside Mrs Dodd, and it was especially lovely to welcome parents who stayed to share the experience with their child. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the positive response from both children and parents. The library was buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm for reading โ€“ in fact, every seat was taken and there was hardly any room left to sit!
Seeing so many families embrace the joy of reading together was truly heartwarming and reinforces just how important reading is within our school community. We can't wait for next week's session! ๐Ÿ“–โœจ
