Lindfield Lodge Keeping Cool in the Sunshine! ☀️

Today our babies enjoyed a lovely sensory water play activity to help keep cool in the warm weather. We explored cold water, ice, blue, gold and silver glitter, and used spoons and pots to scoop, pour and investigate.

This simple activity encouraged the children to use their senses, develop hand-eye coordination and strengthen their fine motor skills through filling, emptying and transferring water and ice. The sparkling glitter and different textures created a calming and engaging sensory experience for our youngest learners.

Pyjama Day & Bring a Book Day at Lindfield Lodge! 📚

Due to the children’s recent excitement and conversations about their lovely new pyjamas, we have decided to have a special Pyjama Day and Bring a Book Day next Tuesday!

Children are invited to come to nursery wearing their favourite pyjamas and bring along a favourite book from home to share with their friends. We’re looking forward to a cosy day filled with stories, reading, and lots of fun!

Please make sure your child’s pyjamas are suitable for active play and that their book is clearly named.

Thank you for your support – we can’t wait for our cosy day together!

SENSORY GARDEN AT LINDFIELD ACADEMY!

Last week the children had a lovely tuff tray set out with people figures, number ladybugs and stone flowers 🌺 🐞

They were given utensils such as tweezers and scoops to be able to collect the pompoms, chickpeas and coloured rice 🍚

We spoke about the dots on the ladybugs, counting them together, as well as talking about the different colours we could see! 🔴🔵🟠🟢

What a nice chilled activity to explore!

🍃 Outdoor Learning & Play at Lindfield Academy 🌿

What a wonderful day our children have had exploring, creating, and enjoying the sunshine!

Our outdoor space was full of excitement as the children zoomed around on scooters and ride-ons, building their confidence, coordination, and independence while having lots of fun 🚲✨

In our mud kitchen, creativity was in full flow! From mixing, pouring, and “cooking” delicious imaginary meals, the children explored textures and developed their communication and teamwork skills 🥣🍃

We also created a calm and cosy area with soft seating and books, giving children the chance to relax, share stories, and enjoy some quiet time together 📚💛

Outdoor play like this supports children aged 2–5 in so many ways — from physical development to imagination, social skills, and wellbeing.

We love seeing their curiosity come to life through play! 🌈
