WOW MOMENT (Part 1) - Christina Franks, The Acorns Nursery and Forest School manager and MBE...yes, you read that right, Member of the Order of the British Empire. ✨🎖

Huge congratulations to Christina, what an incredible achievement who has received an MBE in this year's Birthday Honour's List for her services to Early Years and Childcare! How inspiring.

We spoke with Christina and she had some lovely words to share:

"I am touched and totally overwhelmed to have been awarded the honour.

I feel extremely grateful to have been recognised for doing a job that I adore.

During the 25 plus years I have worked in Early years I never dreamt of being awarded with an MBE – It was a huge surprise!

The joy I receive from my job and from playing a role in children’s care and early learning journey is unmeasurable.

The parents of children I have worked with have reached out with their heart felt congratulations, even parents from 20 plus years ago.
What a delight to be back in touch with some families after so long and to be remembered so fondly by them.

Sadly, I feel like Early years practitioners and teachers do not always get the recognition they deserve - so this feels very special indeed.

If you are passionate about your role, that will shine through in everything that you do – and somebody, somewhere will notice!"
