Huge congratulations to Ardingly’s Year 11 students, who are today celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results! In a year group of over 150 students, 70% of all exams were graded at the top 9-7 grades (the equivalent of the old A*- A); half of all exams were graded at 9s-8s (the equivalent of the old A* grade); and the overall average grade achieved was also an A, at 7.15.

There are some wonderful individual success stories to celebrate and particular congratulations are due to the 37 students who achieved eight or more GCSEs all at the top grades of 9-8. We’re also delighted that these results mean that, yet again, we are able to offer every Ardingly student a programme in our Sixth Form.

Perhaps most impressively, it looks like Ardingly will once again be in the top 1% of UK schools for “value add” at GCSE, with every student achieving on average more than one grade higher, per subject, than their baseline testing at entry predicted.

Well done, everyone!🙌⭐

We’re so proud of our A Level students and the Class of 2026.

MANY congratulations to all members of Ardingly’s Class of 2026 on another outstanding set of A-Level, IB Diploma and BTEC results! A fantastic 25% of A Level and IB grades were at the top A* or 7 grades respectively, with well over half (58%) of the exams taken scoring at the top two grades of A*-A or 7-6. Particular congratulations are due to the 24 students who achieved three or more A*s- As in their A-Levels this morning, as well as to the 19 students who scored 40 or over in the IB Diploma. We are hugely proud of this cohort and wish them all the very best as they now head off to some of the most prestigious universities in the UK and around the world. Congratulations to the four Ardingly College athletes who represented Sussex at the National English Schools' Athletics at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.

Also, well done to Barney who was competing in his 5th ESAA and who co-captained the Sussex Team. 🏃🏻‍♂️

Huge congratulations to our International Baccalaureate Class of 2026 on a really fantastic set of results! Our initial average score of 39.2 puts us, yet again, among the top handful of British IB schools and among the leading IB schools globally (and we are confident this average will only increase over the next couple of weeks, as some re-marks come in.) To put this achievement in context, 39.2 compares to a global average of 30.88, meaning our students achieved, on average, more than eight points above the worldwide benchmark - an extraordinary margin at this level of academic performance.

We are thrilled to report that 47% of this year’s IB cohort scored 40 or more, with one student achieving the maximum score of 45 and another coming very close with a score of 44. Many congratulations to all our IB students (some of whom are shown in this photo) and we wish them all the best at their chosen universities, which this year include Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial and the LSE, as well as other leading Russell Group and European universities.

💫 Commemoration Day & Leavers' Ball 2026 💫

Our Upper Sixth leavers are now Old Ardinians, and we couldn't be prouder of the Class of 2026.

As Headmaster Mr. Figgis perfectly put it today: "To the students, thank you for your energy, your purpose and your urgency... all of you will go on to face the future with courage."

What a tremendous day it's been, and what an exceptional way to finish another brilliant year at Ardingly.

Have a fun-filled, restful and wonderful summer!

😎Life Skills Week 😎

As the end of term approaches, we’ve done anything but wind down during Life Skills Week - and what a brilliant few days it’s been!

Despite the baking temperatures, everyone has had a blast tackling everything and anything from pitching a tent while blindfolded to archery, pizza-making, pretending to be Prime Minister, problem-solving, breakdancing, plumbing, DIY, learning how to navigate without a phone and even how to write, direct and produce their own film.

Thank you to all our visitors who came to help us make it happen and to everyone who kept cool and carried on!

🏏1st XI Boys' Cricket Vs Old Ardinians 🏏

It was great to see so many familiar faces when the Old Ardinian XI returned to the College Green for a cricket match against our Boys' 1st XI.

On the longest day of the year – and one of the hottest! - there was some impressive hitting from both sides (one or two Godwin roof tiles may have been dislodged!) with victory going to the College in the final over.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for a wonderful day.

✨ Back to Hollywood Ball✨

Glitz, glamour and our very own walk of fame – the Friends of Ardingly’s ‘Back to Hollywood’ summer ball was a show-stopping evening!

With a string-quartet (performed by our very own students) welcoming guests for sundowners on the terrace, we were then treated to a fabulous evening of live entertainment, dinner and lots of dancing.

Thank you to all the glamorous ladies and dapper gents who joined us for a memorable evening.
