🏆 Q-Week 2026 Champions! 🏆

After an incredible week of teamwork, determination and adventure, we’re delighted to announce this year’s Q-Week winners: Team E! 🎉

Q-Week brings together Year 7 and 8 as the teams take on challenges, build their own camps, showcase their woodland skills, and complete in the legendary Operation Banger! Throughout the week, participants demonstrate fantastic teamwork, resilience and creativity, making it one of the highlights of the year.

🌟Celebrating at Great Walstead legend! 🌟

Yesterday Pre-Prep held a special celebration assembly in honour of Mrs Taylor, who is retiring after 25 outstanding years at Great Walstead! Mrs Taylor has touched the lives of so many of our pupils throughout the years, and her dedication and care will be sincerely missed. She leaves us now to spend more time with her six grandchildren and to take some well-deserved time for herself (although she will be back in September as a volunteer, supporting our pupils by listening to them read).

Thank you, Mrs Taylor, for everything you’ve done, and best wishes for the future. ❤️

💫Celebrating Scholarship Success 💫

We are incredibly proud of our Year 8s, whose hard work, talent and dedication have been recognised with an outstanding 17 scholarships awarded to 13 pupils as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.

These impressive achievements include Academic, Art, Music, Sport, as well as Cricket and Hockey and the prestigious Millennium Scholarship (for all-round excellence). Each scholarship is a testament not only to individual excellence, but also to the commitment, character and enthusiasm our pupils demonstrate every day.

Huge congratulations to all scholarship recipients and we wish all our Year 8 Leavers every success for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

✨As it’s the final week of term, we thought we’d share another Spotlight on a Club with you, just because we can.😉 This time we’re highlighting Gardening Club, which was new this term and aimed at children from Reception up to Year 2. Our little gardeners have had a lovely time in the Secret Garden, making and planting seed bombs and making sure everything is well watered… even the grass! This club marks will mark the beginning of a new set of clubs, all aimed at Pre-Prep children, so keep your eyes peeled for exciting future developments! 🪏🪴

✨With water sports already at the forefront of our minds thanks to yesterday’s House Feast, what better club for this week’s Spotlight on a Club than Sailing Club? Every Tuesday afternoon, Mrs Bland and our intrepid explorers set off to the local reservoir, where they head out onto the water and test their sea legs. They take part in a mix of sailing and paddle boarding activities, and generally have a wail of a time. The club is a Summer term favourite, so look out for it again in future terms! ⛵️

The final House Feast of the year saw Carey, our Summer term champions, make quite a splash as they took to the reservoir for a spot of kayaking and paddle boarding. Having worked up an appetite during their activities, the fun was followed by a delicious feast of burgers and chips and a well-deserved ice cream. Congratulations on your win, Carey! 🏆
