Our nursery is situated in Angarrack village, within Angarrack Community Centre. The nursery has a large bright hall, prepared beautifully with a full range of Montessori materials and additional educational activities which compliment the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum guidance. All furniture is child-sized enabling children to access the activities freely. The nursery has full disabled
access and offers free-flow indoor-outdoor education. We strive to follow true Montessori principles where children are free to play, explore and discover, enabling your child to flourish. Montessori believes in ‘following the child’ closely linked with ‘the prepared environment’ with guidance from ‘understanding teachers’. At Butterflies we value close relationships with yourselves as parents/carers as you are your child’s first educator. We aim to provide the best possible start for every individual child to develop a life-long love of learning. Your child’s key worker will ensure learning is at their own pace and are guided towards challenging and stimulating activities to further their development. Montessori recognised how children learn through their senses and actually create their personalities by absorbing certain aspects from the environment we provide. When children have access to purposeful activities having hands-on experiences they are not only learning new skills but are developing amazing characteristics common to all children. These include concentration, co-ordination of movement, children are calm and happy and spontaneously move towards more challenging activities, they develop inner discipline fostering love and respect for others and for their environment.
