📢 Leavers Week Reminder 🎓☀️

As we prepare to celebrate our wonderful children moving on to school, and the end of another wonderful school year, here are a few important reminders:

🎓 Leavers' Assembly – Monday 20th

Children who are not leaving for school should be collected by 2:00pm.
Parents/carers of our leavers are invited to arrive at 2:15pm for the assembly.
If your child is a leaver but does not usually attend on a Monday, please bring them to preschool at 2:00pm so they can take part.

🎉 Leavers' Party – Tuesday 21st

Please meet us at Penzance Gymnastics (TR208AS) between 10:30am and 10:45am.
The party will finish at 12:15pm.

☀️ Summer Closure
Sandcastles will close for the summer at 2:00pm on Tuesday 21st.

First of all, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped make our stall at the school fete such a success! We had a fantastic time and are delighted to share that we raised £166. Thank you to everyone who donated and came along to support us – we couldn't have done it without you! 💛

We've had another fantastic week at Sandcastles! With the sunshine continuing, we've been making the most of our outdoor spaces, exploring the gardens and keeping cool with plenty of shade and water play. ☀️💦

We would also like to thank Trimar for donating us a glass aquarium for our baby frogs to grow, while we eagerly await the building of our new pond. We can't wait to watch them continue their journey! 🐸

During Sports 4 Tots - Cornwall , the children developed their hand-eye coordination by catching balls with both their hands and nets. They also worked brilliantly as a team, passing the balls to one another using their nets, showing fantastic teamwork and communication skills. ⚽🎾

We hope you all have a lovely weekend. Remember to stay safe in the sunshine, keep hydrated, and don't forget your sun cream! 😎☀️

☀️ Wow, what a fantastic week of sunshine we've had! We've made the most of the beautiful weather by spending lots of time outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and making wonderful summer memories together. 🌞

The children have loved creating dens under the tarpaulin to make some shady spaces to play out of the sun. As well as playing in our swimming pool! There were lots of smiles, laughter, splashing, and water games as everyone enjoyed cooling off in the warm weather.

We finished our sunny week with an exciting water fight, which was a huge hit with both the children and the adults! 💦 Everyone had the best time laughing, running, and squirting each other with their water guns.

During Sports 4 Tots - Cornwall, we used tennis rackets to develop our balancing skills while also practising colour matching. The children worked brilliantly together, passing bean bags to their friends, encouraging one another, and showing fantastic teamwork. 🎾

This week at Sandcastles, we have had some exciting developments linked to our Life Cycles topic!
🦋 We released our beautiful butterflies that we hatched from tiny caterpillars and watched as they flew off into the world. We also discovered that one of our tadpoles has completed its transformation and turned into a frog! To add to our learning, we had a special snake skin brought in for the children to explore and investigate.
🌱 We continued our planting activities and used our senses to explore a variety of herbs, discussing their different smells, textures, and appearances.
🪥 We also carried on with our teeth-brushing activities, learning about the importance of keeping our bodies healthy and looking after our teeth.
🏀 To finish the week, we enjoyed a fun Sports 4 Tots - Cornwall session. The children played a lily pad game, pretending to be frogs and joining together on lily pads while developing their number recognition and counting skills. We also practised with basketballs, helping to develop our hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills.

What a fantastic week of learning, exploring, and having fun! 😊 We can't wait to see what adventures and discoveries next week brings!

We have had a lovely first week back after half term and hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine over the break!

This week, we have been learning about the life cycle of plants. The children enjoyed planting their own cress seeds to take home and care for. We talked about what plants need to grow and discussed how some of the foods we eat are grown from plants.

During Sports 4 Tots - Cornwall, we focused on developing our listening skills. The children had lots of fun finding different parts of their bodies to stick together and taking part in team ball games.

We have been continuing our life cycles topic this week.
The children have been creating our new Hungry Caterpillar display and have loved getting creative while decorating our big, beautiful butterfly. We are also enjoying watching our cheeky chickens grow and explore their surroundings. And excitingly, our caterpillars have now turned into chrysalis!

During Sports 4 Tots - Cornwall, we played with the cheeky rascal balls, practising our hand-eye coordination skills by chasing and catching. We also focused on our shapes -triangles and circles, and enjoyed taking part in team games together.

We hope everyone has a fantastic week off enjoying the sunshine 🌞 and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 1st June.

This week we have been lucky enough to explore our new garden for the very first time! This will become our new planting and growing garden, and the children are so excited to watch everything come together over the coming months.
Our chickens are getting bigger every day and are loving the long grass to graze on. 🐓
Our caterpillars are also growing quickly and are almost ready to crystallise and turn into their cocoons. 🦋
The children have had lots of fun exploring homemade gloop, getting messy and enjoying the different textures.
During Sports 4 Tots - Cornwall, we practised our listening skills by playing the bean game before teaming up to complete an obstacle course. The children stepped carefully between the ladder lines and jumped over the hurdles.

We’ve had a fantastic first week back at Sandcastles as we begin our new term!

Our baby chicks have grown so much and are loving their new home, happily exploring the nursery garden 🐥🌿

We also received some caterpillars as part of our life cycles topic. The children have been busy helping to create our Hungry Caterpillar display wall, and we can’t wait to watch them grow and change 🐛✨

On top of that, we’ve had a delivery of new toys, which have been a big hit—especially enjoying them outside in the sunshine ☀️

This week at Sandscastles, we’ve been celebrating Easter with lots of fun-filled activities, topped off with a very special visit from the Easter Bunny!🐰🍬

A huge thank you to all our wonderful parents and carers who helped make our Easter activity morning and raffle such a fantastic event. It was a lovely morning enjoyed by everyone!

We’re also delighted to share that we raised an amazing £233, which will go towards developing our new garden area for the children to enjoy 🌿

Thank you again for your continued support and we hope you all have an enjoyable 2 weeks off.
We will be back open on TUESDAY 21st April.

🐣 We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our Easter Activity Morning tomorrow!🐰

Doors will open to all parents and carers from 10:00am, and our raffle will be drawn at 11:30am. There will still be time to purchase raffle tickets on the morning at £1 a strip.
