πŸŽ‰ GCSE Results Day: Celebrating the Class of 2026! πŸŽ‰

Today was a wonderful day of celebration at Hayle Academy as our Year 11 students collected their GCSE results and marked the end of an important chapter in their educational journey.

We are incredibly proud of every member of the Class of 2026. These results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the resilience, determination, character and commitment our students have shown throughout their time with us. It was fantastic to see students, families and staff sharing such a special moment together, celebrating years of hard work and perseverance.

Particular congratulations to some of our top achievers:

⭐ Greta – 3 Grade 9s, 6 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7
⭐ Tru – 4 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6
⭐ Rosie – 4 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 6s
⭐ Jamie – 2 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 6 and a Level 2 Distinction*
⭐ Sophia – 3 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s and 3 Grade 6s
⭐ Dylan – 3 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and a Level 2 Distinction
⭐ Solas – 2 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s, 5 Grade 6s and a Level 2 Distinction

Across the year group, students achieved an impressive 14 Grade 9s, 26 Grade 8s, 45 Grade 7s, 4 Level 2 Distinction* awards and 25 Level 2 Distinctions.

This year is particularly special as we celebrate the achievements of the first Year 11 students from our Area Resource Base (ARB). We are immensely proud of everything they have accomplished and the determination, courage and growth they have shown throughout their time at Hayle Academy.

As Head of School, Melissa Lock, said: "Whilst their qualifications provide a strong foundation for future success, our students leave Hayle Academy with so much more than examination results. They have developed the skills, knowledge, confidence and resilience needed to thrive as they move on to the next exciting chapter of their educational journey."

Today is also an opportunity to recognise the unwavering support of our families and the dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to help every young person achieve their potential. These successes are the result of a whole-school community coming together to support, encourage and believe in our students every step of the way.

As the Class of 2026 moves on to college, sixth form, apprenticeships and employment, we celebrate not only the qualifications they have earned but the remarkable young people they have become.

πŸŽ“ Well done, Class of 2026. You have left a lasting legacy at Hayle Academy and we are proud of every one of you. We wish you every success and happiness for the future.

Class of 2026 students are warmly invited to collect their exam results from school on Thursday 20th August 2026 between 8.30am- 10am.

The results will be available for collection from the school’s main hall.

If somebody other than the student is picking up their results on their behalf then we will need the student’s written consent that is signed by the student, in order to release the results. This would apply to parents and carers, for example, and they would need to bring this consent with them on the day.

Students who have previously provided consent and who now have access to the DfE app on their phone will also be able to access their results electronically on the day.

Staff will be on hand to offer support and Post-16 Colleges are also offering help and support for students at this time and further details are available on their websites.

We wish all of our students all the best with their results tomorrow!

Huge congratulations to former Hayle Academy student Mate, who has achieved an incredible 3 A*s in A Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics, along with an A in Computer Science! An incredible accomplishment that reflects years of hard work and determination.

We are so proud to see our former students continuing to excel and reach their ambitions. Thank you to Truro and Penwith College for sharing this wonderful success story.

We would also like to extend our warmest congratulations to all Hayle Academy alumni who received their results last Thursday. Whatever your next step, whether university, apprenticeships, employment or further study, we wish you every success for the future. πŸŽ‰

πŸŽ‰Congratulations to Mate, who is celebrating fantastic A Level results, achieving A*'s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics, as well as an A in Computer Science.

Formerly of Hayle Academy, Mate is now preparing for the next exciting step in his academic journey, having secured a place at the University of Southampton to study a degree in Electrical Engineering.

πŸ’¬ Mate shared: "The subjects have been very nice to study, especially the coursework in Physics, the practicals and the mathematical programmes. It's an amazing campus. It's very beautiful, it's small, but that means it's more close-knit. "

Congratulations, Mate, on your fantastic achievements. We wish you every success as you begin the next step of your journey! πŸ‘βœ¨

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

With an incredible number of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

β˜€οΈπŸ† Sports Day 2026 πŸ†β˜€οΈ

What a fantastic day we had at our "Festival of Sport" Sports Day!

With glorious sunshine from start to finish, students threw themselves into a huge range of activities, showing enthusiasm, determination and teamwork throughout the day. From netball and cricket to laser tag, welly wanging, long jump, fitness challenges, yoga, dance and archery, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy.

It was wonderful to see students stepping out of their comfort zones, supporting one another, celebrating successes and simply having fun while being active. The energy, positivity and sportsmanship on display were incredible, and we couldn't be prouder of how our students embraced every challenge.

A huge thank you to all the staff and external partners including Archers of the West, Fitness and Strength Training Cornwall, DT Coaching and Hayle Tennis Club who helped make the day such a success, and well done to every student who took part and made the Festival of Sport such a memorable event.

πŸ“Έ Broader Horizons Week 2026 Highlights! πŸŒŠπŸ–οΈπŸ©ΉπŸŽ‘πŸ”¬

What an incredible week of learning, teamwork and new experiences for our students!

Our Year 7s took part in a Water Safety Day, developing essential knowledge and skills to help keep themselves and others safe around the coast.

Year 8 enjoyed a fantastic Beach Trip, making the most of our beautiful local environment while learning outside the classroom. They also put their problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test during the STEM Challenge, tackling exciting engineering and science-based activities.

Students gained valuable life skills through First Aid training, building confidence in how to respond in emergency situations.

Meanwhile, creativity was in full flow as students worked on their Festival Design projects, showcasing innovative ideas, imagination and entrepreneurial thinking.

We are so proud of the enthusiasm, resilience and engagement shown by all our students throughout the week. A huge thank you to our staff, partners and volunteers who helped make these experiences possible.

πŸ“· Take a look through our Broader Horizons Week photo gallery and celebrate some of the memorable moments with us!
