We’re exceptionally proud to have been involved in the organisation of the ‘Remember Rick Rescorla’ parade, honouring a true Hayle hero and former Penpol pupil. We’re also incredibly proud to have some of our older pupils taking part in the parade.

You may also have seen information about the road closure. This shouldn’t affect end-of-day school collections, but please do check the latest information on the Hayle Town Council’s page if you are travelling through the town.

It promises to be a very special afternoon as our community comes together to remember Rick.

11th September 2026 will mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the USA. Hayle-born Rick Rescorla coordinated the evacuation of over 2,500 people from the World Trade Centre, saving their lives but very sadly losing his own in the process.

All are welcome to attend the parade and ceremony to remember his life, bravery and sacrifice - we encourage attendees to walk or use public transport as far as possible as parking is limited and road closures will be in place for the duration.

We’re nearly ready to welcome everyone back!

As we get closer to the children’s return, we wanted to share how excited we are to welcome back our familiar faces and meet all of our new children and families!

Just a reminder that school is closed to pupils on Tuesday and Wednesday. Many of our staff will be undertaking training from home on Tuesday, while we will be in school on Wednesday getting everything ready for the new term.

If you or your child would like to pop in between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on Wednesday to have a look around, familiarise yourselves with the school or simply say hello, please email [email protected] beforehand so that Mrs Pope and Mrs Duncan know who to expect.

We can’t wait to see you all!

See you soon! 👋

Having a clear-out? Could you help us with our new Year 1 classrooms?

As we prepare for September, we’re developing our continuous provision environment, where children can learn through exploration, creativity and play.

We’re hoping to source as many pre-loved resources as possible before buying new, and we’d love the support of our wonderful school community.

Do you have any of the following items at home that you no longer use or need? We’d be incredibly grateful for any donations to help us create exciting, engaging learning environments for our new Year 1 children.

Thank you, as always, for your amazing support! 💛💙

Some posts need very few words… just look at their faces. 💛💙

One final leavers’ tradition! Mrs Kemp, Miss Hall and Mr Woolcock weren’t missing out either. Video is in the comments.

Good luck to each and every one of you as you head off on your next adventure. We’ll miss you!

This wonderful game finished 8–5 in favour of the Staff again this year, but boy, did the children make it difficult!

The partisan crowd made their feelings known early on and cheered each of the children’s goals with equal excitement. Unfortunately for them, the grown-ups refused to roll over!

In his final appearance, Mr Woolcock not only lifted the Pollard Cup but did so with the captain’s armband proudly on his arm.

Most importantly, we couldn’t be prouder of the children. They were absolutely brilliant, showing incredible effort, determination and skill from start to finish — and they certainly made the staff work for it!

Until next year…

One of our favourite days of the year! Penpol most certainly has talent! From singing to dancing, gymnastics to keepie-uppies, musicians to comedians — we had it all!

All of our performers did so well to get up on stage and perform so confidently. Well done to all of you, and special congratulations to our winners!

Thank you also to Stan and Peck, who were able to find time in their busy schedules — especially so soon after returning from the USA — to rescue us after Ant and Dec cancelled!

After two hugely successful dress rehearsals for the rest of the school today, we’re ‘Arrrr’ ready to welcome parents, guardians, friends and families aboard as our Year 6 pupils set sail with their production of The Pirates of the Curry Bean!

Wednesday

Please ensure children arrive 30 minutes before each performance.

We can’t wait to see you there!
